Walked 5.5 miles on treadmill, fitbit recorded 4 miles. This seems like a very large difference.  Any suggestions?

@Izella01, the Fitbit tracker does not record mileage when walking on the treadmill, it calculates the distance by multiplying your profile set Stride Length for Walk by the number of steps.  If you were holding onto the hand rails part of the time you were walking on the treadmill, no steps were counted for that time. And, if your stride is considerably different on a treadmill than for normal walking, as most people's stride is, the the calculated distance will be considerably different as well.  Have you measured your stride length and then adjusted the Profile setting to match it?

Thank you for the input. Walked again today not holding rail with left hand and worked much better.
