So my phone, a OnePlus 3, updated to Android 8 last night. I have a Blaze and had no issues before but now, my Blaze won't sync to my phone despite trying all the support bits and contacting the Fitbit Support team.
What I'm trying to figure out, and not getting straight answer from Fitbit, is does the app actually work on Android 8 (Oreo)?
The only comments I can find on here relate to the beta release of Android 8 but it's now at public release stage. Any ideas?

@Scooby359, there has been a lot of discussion on this forum about the issues with Android 8 Oreo. I suggest you type the word Oreo in the search line at the top of this forum and then read through some of the many posts on this subject.

Thanks Larry, but as I said, I'm aware there are issues and I'm looking for a straight answer. It's unfair to sell a device costing so much when it becomes worthless overnight to users. Particularly when Android 8 has been available to developers for nearly 6 months. The Fitbit support team have been really vague in their answers and it's leaving me pretty pissed at the company's attitude.
So simply, I'm just after a yes or no answer - is Android 8.0 supported by Fitbit?

Best of luck getting a Yes or No answer. Every phone & tablet vendor implements the Android OS in a different way to uniquely address their marketing and technology goals.

As @USAF-Larry has posted we have the differences in each Vendors release of Android 8.. I'm having no issues on my Sony with V8.0.0. and App 2.65.1. The odd slow sync.. but improvement on V2.64.

@sankb99I have just had the slow syncing... syncing and have had success by just turning the phones Bluetooth off.. I mean slow because at 13 minutes no syncing..
My Android was updated 2 days ago... 1 day after the App 2.65.1 updated on my phone.
I would like to know from the Moderators what should we expect for a turn around time for syncing ?
Because at 13 minutes you can see it suck your phone battery...some days at 1%/minute

A few more days using Oreo on my non listed Sony.. Syncing has settled down and if it wheelies for a few minutes I stop the phones Bluetooth and it then syncs within a minute as per earlier post.
Another test I do is create a manual activity from the phone and/or the PC Dashboard and that activity is in the Phones Dashboard and/or the PC Dashboard in the blink of an eye. That test is while the Sync is wheeling..
So it can only be the Bluetooth connection.. In the last few days I have only restarted the Ionic once and every morning I switch the phone on, so that eliminates the phone problem. Still wearing it 24/7 and multied with the One 16/7 and that combination is syncing..
Now having random issues with GPS in connecting, but the times that has happened, I cannot get the phone to track as a test as well.. Below a typical GPS Status App screenshot when that occurs.. No buildings, trees or clouds, just a clear night sky.. My walk started at 10:49pm and was GPS was trying to connect all the way.
There hasn't been a Sony phone added to Fitbit's list since 2013.. My reactions from Support have been, "We are happy that you are having success with your phone".. and yesterday, the typical boiler plate in the Forums.. "Your phone isn't in the list etc"..
Finally, I can't get an answer from Fitbit when they will announce App 2.66 because it's in the APK Mirror site...

I'm really disappointed with fitbit. I just moved from apple watch to ionic but the sync process in oreo can't work. Probably I'll go back to Apple watch.

Hi,
My Samsung S8 OS was updated on the 12 April to the latest version, Android 8.
Since the update, my fitbit app is stuck on the 12 Aprils logs.
I have reset my blaze, logged out of the app. I have cleared the app's cache and even uninstalled the app however it is not changing.
Please advise if there is perhaps a compatibility issue with the latest Android OS and the Fitbit App?

Hello everyone!
For the ones that are having constant syncing issues with Android 8, do you get any error messages at all? If so, what do they say?
In the meantime, please try the steps @Colinm39 posted. Additionally, please try all of the regular syncing troubleshooting steps as they should work to get your Fitbit to sync.
If there are any questions, please let me know.

I've resetted my charge 2 and have to reinstall the app twice or three times a day. Synchronization stops without errors after a few seconds. After reinstall it works sometimes for some minutes and sometimes two or three hours. It worked like a charm and after the latest Android updates the problems occurred. Tried everything and don't know what to do. I hope there comes a solution very soon. Btw I followed all the other instructions, nothing helps.

Hello @SunsetRunner!
Thanks for sharing your experience on the matter and for trying the steps that have been mentioned.
In addition to your experience so far with syncing, what phone are you currently using to sync your device? Is it a compatible device? Incompatible devices can experience syncing issues out of the blue like that given that the app is not fully optimized for them.
I would like to let you know, in case that your phone is incompatible, that the developer team is aware of the need to add new devices to the list of compatible devices. There are some users who can syncing with non-compatible devices. If your phone meets the requirement of Minimum Supported OS (Android 4.4 KitKat), you can try the tips on the following help article: Sync troubleshooting.
If there are any further questions, please feel free to reach out!

Hi,
I did not receive any syncing error. It was actually adding all my data together.
However, the next day, it went back to normal and has been syncing probably since.
Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. I do have the OnePlus 5T with Android 8.0.0. It worked very well on Android 7.

Hello @AmzSA and @SunsetRunner.
@AmzSA Thanks for letting me know that it is working properly now.
@SunsetRunner It is possible that the update to Android 8 caused some incompatibility issues given that the OnePlus 5T is not currently a supported device.
Having said that, you can try the steps I mentioned above. They might help.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Received the latest OnePlus updates today: Android 8.1 and Oxygen 5.1.1. I prayed that this should solve the Fitbit problems, unfortunately nothing has improved with the synchronisation issue.
I've to reinstall the Fitbit app still three or four times a day.
The app shows that synchronisation will be scheduled, but nothing happens.

Greetings. I have the Fitbit Blaze and a Galaxy S8. Since the upgrade to Androis 8.0, my watch has had a horrible time. I was finally able to get it to sync by completely removing the device, uninstalling the app, resetting bluetooth, then install the app and pair the watch. All was good until the Fitbit app update last week. Now I can't sync the watch at all. I keep getting bluetooth errors. It searches for the Blaze, says that it finds it and attempts to connect to it. The bluetooth errors say something along the lines of "if this is your first time seeing this error, press cancel. Otherwise, turn bluetooth off and on again." I gave up trying fro about 4 days. Today (4/30), with everything exactly the same as last week (no app updates to Fitbit or bluetooth), I was able to get it to sync. I force stopped the Fitbit app, went to my Blaze settings on the watch and shut it down, turned bluetooth off on the phone and then back on. Then, I opened the app and powered on the Blaze watch. I attempted to set up a device in the app, and surprisingly this time it took me to a screen that said to enter the 4 digit pass code. After entering it, the Blaze connected and synced. We'll see how long it stays synced, but I hope you find a solution to this syncing issue soon. Hope the feedback helps.
