Fitbit Update: 3/6/19
Hello everyone!
We have some updated troubleshooting suggestions we'd like for all of you on Android Pie (9.0) to try.
First, turn off Background Restrictions/Limitations: Phone settings > Apps & Notifications > Fitbit app > Background restrictions or Background limits.
Then, disable battery limitations:
Please give the steps above a try to improve syncing with your Fitbit device and Android 9.0 OS. We're still researching and testing out long-term solutions to this ongoing syncing issue. We thank you for all your patience while we continue to work on this effort.

Our team is still working on implementing a longterm fix for syncing with Android devices on Pie (9.0).
For the background syncing issue, I have posted an update in the other floated thread which you can find here.

Fitbit Update: 9/10/18
Hi, everybody!
Thanks for your patience while our team continues to work on improving syncing for those on Android Pie (9.0). They are actively working on this and for the time being, I recommend you keep the Fitbit app updated on the latest version for best syncing results. Right now that is version 2.78, so if you're not on this version please update! Also, another troubleshoot we recommend is performing a restart on your phone.
When there are more improvements made in the future I'll announce them here. Stay tuned and subscribed to this thread.
Fitbit Update: 8/19/18
We have escalated these syncing issues for those who are now using Android Pie (9.0) to our team for investigation. There aren't any updates at the moment, but rest assured we will keep you informed in this thread when more information is available.
Thanks for your patience!

Hi, everyone! Thanks for stopping by the Community Forums.
Seems like many of you who updated to Android Pie (9.0) are now having trouble syncing your Fitbit trackers. I'm going to escalate this to our team so they can look into it.
In the meantime, please update the Fitbit app to version 2.76.1 if you haven't yet. Let me know if that changes the syncing behavior. Please follow this thread for updates. I'll keep you all posted here!

How much longer will it take
you to find a fix ? It's been now a couple of weeks since my watch is not syncing with the app, no notifications are coming through, etc.

Same problem I have done all suggested. Update worked one time then stopped. Put new battery in Fitbit worked one time then stopped. Very annoying. All started when upgraded phone to 9. Before sometimes would take several tries but would sync eventually.

But really, it shouldn't even take several tries to sync. that is something
that has always annoyed me about my various fitbits.
Best regards,

I don't know what to suggest.
I simply waited until the software guys did their repair, and let Google Play update my Fitbit app.
In the interim I didn't do anything: just grinned and beared it.
No uninstall, no unpair, nothing.

Mine is finally working. Here is what I did: I uninstalled the old app on my phone. Reinstalled it and restarted my Fitbit One. I did the same thing with the app on Chrome on my computer. Viola!!! they are now syncing and, nothing was lost. All of my stats were somehow logged even though it was showing "0" for the past week and a half.

Finally working properly after version 2.77 update. If this is the process to fix your app you've seriously lost many users on Android, or will. I do hope you find a way to ensure you address your software issues better next time

I have done everything. You suggested. Reinstalled app. Turned phone off and back on. Don't know what else to do. My fit bit is useless if won't sync with my pixel. All started when upgraded phone. I feel cheated.

I updated to Pie on my Pixel 2 yesterday and my zip wouldn't sync. This evening, I just got a notification that it had synced so it's working for me at least for now!

Well, I don't think the latest version fixed anything. This is just getting annoying by the day. This is the 4th week since the issue was raised. Please give us a reasonable update. It is very inconvenient to try and sync the device by fiddling with the Bluetooth settings every time.

I have a Fitbit One, and a Pixel 2 phone that I upgraded to Android 9 about two weeks ago. Even after the patch that was released last week, my One is not syncing properly. It will randomly sync 1-2 times a day since the patch was released, but not when I prompt it to (prior to the patch it would not sync at all since the upgrade to Android 9). If I go to my phone's bluetooth settings, the One is not showing up as a paired device. I try to pair it, and it spins indefinitely without pairing. I log in to the Fitbit app, and it won't sync but does not give me any error messages. I'm not sure why it will randomly sync at all if it is not paired with my phone, but that is the experience I am having. Hopefully this helps troubleshoot the issue and get it fixed ASAP. This is incredibly frustrating!!

Finally got sync working again. Uninstalled app, restarted phone, reinstalled app, restarted phone once more. Still didn't work consistently. (Would work once, maybe twice then stop again).
Then restarted my Fitbit One using the charger (instructions online if you need them) and now things seem to be working for the last couple of hours. Hope this helps others!
