Fitbit Update: 3/6/19
Hello everyone!
We have some updated troubleshooting suggestions we'd like for all of you on Android Pie (9.0) to try.
First, turn off Background Restrictions/Limitations: Phone settings > Apps & Notifications > Fitbit app > Background restrictions or Background limits.
Then, disable battery limitations:
Please give the steps above a try to improve syncing with your Fitbit device and Android 9.0 OS. We're still researching and testing out long-term solutions to this ongoing syncing issue. We thank you for all your patience while we continue to work on this effort.

Hey Everyone!
Our team is still working on implementing a longterm fix for syncing with Android devices on Pie (9.0).
For the background syncing issue, I have posted an update in the other floated thread which you can find here.
We released Fitbit for Android version 2.80 today which contains improvements for that syncing issue.
I'll make sure to keep you all updated with more information, as soon as I have it available. We're still working on this and I really appreciate everyone's patience.

Fitbit Update: 9/10/18
Hi, everybody!
Thanks for your patience while our team continues to work on improving syncing for those on Android Pie (9.0). They are actively working on this and for the time being, I recommend you keep the Fitbit app updated on the latest version for best syncing results. Right now that is version 2.78, so if you're not on this version please update! Also, another troubleshoot we recommend is performing a restart on your phone.
When there are more improvements made in the future I'll announce them here. Stay tuned and subscribed to this thread.
Fitbit Update: 8/19/18
We have escalated these syncing issues for those who are now using Android Pie (9.0) to our team for investigation. There aren't any updates at the moment, but rest assured we will keep you informed in this thread when more information is available.
Thanks for your patience!
Fitbit Update: 8/11/18
Hi, everyone! Thanks for stopping by the Community Forums. ![]()
Seems like many of you who updated to Android Pie (9.0) are now having trouble syncing your Fitbit trackers. I'm going to escalate this to our team so they can look into it.
In the meantime, please update the Fitbit app to version 2.76.1 if you haven't yet. Let me know if that changes the syncing behavior. Please follow this thread for updates. I'll keep you all posted here!

My Fitbit one also stopped synching to Pixel after update to Android 9.0. If I turn off the Fitbit (which requires attaching it to the computer) and then restart it, it will synch -- but only once. Have to go through the same procedure every time I want to synch, which is not very practical and not possible when traveling. It's been a few days since Fitbit said they were working on this issue. Any updates would be appreciated.
I'm not sure if my issue is the same thing as what you are talking about. My steps are not syncing to my dashboard. They are syncing on the challenges and then don't appear on the dashboard until the next day. So I don't see accumulated steps in real time--they only appear on the dashboard the next day. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled and reset the fitbit. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Same here with my ionic. I did it all. Wiped my ionic clean ( master reset) deleted the app. Now, the sleep taker is fine, but my steps are miscounted, my heartbeat is NOT there. Im Just hurt at this point I was told the app needs another update.

Fitbit have acknowledged the problems with syncing under Android P. Keep an eye on the following thread where they'll be making updates on progress:

I'm sorry to see that so many people are experiencing the same issue. I'm hoping that they are working on a fix, but, perhaps, it is taking a while because it affected more than one model. I hope they have not abandoned this model. I guess we will not know unless they eventually announce something. I may have to see if it is time to abandoned Fitbit.
Best AnswerI wanted to add my experience to this thread, but I don't want to type it over again. My original post can be found here: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/One/tracker-not-found-after-Android-P-update/m-p/2899444#M75112
Suffice it to say that the only fix I have found is to restart the tracker each time prior to syncing. FYI, I have been on v2.76.1 while having the issue.
Best AnswerI am running 2.76.1 and my Fitbit, which had not updated since I installed Android 9 on the morning of 8/14 is now syncing normally... Not sure what happened but I'm glad it's working! At least for the moment...
Best AnswerAny word on a fix yet Fitbit? This is taking a long while.
Not only for Android 9.0.0 but also for 8.0.0.
Best AnswerI had to put the fit bit app on my ipod, because it will not sync right on my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 😞
Best AnswerSame with me. I have the ionic and its having issue with my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 syncing but not with my ipod. Funny that!!⚘
Best Answermchaceortiz's fix worked for me. I could get it to sync if I put my One in the dongle, turned it off, restarted it, and then it would sync. Not super practical.
Opening the fitbit app, choosing to sync, going to Bluetooth settings and choosing to pair the One (which will fail as it's supposed to do), and then back to the fitbit app to resync, and lo and behold, it syncs!
Must open up a channel of some sort. Certainly want it fixed but glad I have a work around.
Pixel 2, updated to 9 yesterday, version 2.76.1 fitbit app version (so latest)
Best AnswerI just updated my Google pixel to Android P yesterday, and am disappointed to find I cannot sync my Fitbit one any longer.

Best AnswerI'm noticing it's a pairing issue.
If the app is not syncing at the time and you go into the Android Bluetooth settings and try to pair it there, give it a few seconds and go back to the app you can manually update again.
I was literally resetting the fitbit 3+ times a day to get it to relink for the first few days before searching up on this issue. You may have coded issues with the pairing. It is almost like it's already paired so when it tries to look for the fitbit it cannot find it. When you force the device to use something else to connect it resets the app information forcing it to look and reconnect.

Best AnswerSaw there was a message yesterday that it will take 2 weeks for another update that will fix the syncing. https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Android-App/App-2-76-1-steps-calories-revert-to-zero-no-live-HR/m-p/...
