The Android Fitbit App Dashboard has become extremely slow to update.  It routinely takes over 30 seconds to update.  This has caused me to miss goals because it still shows yesterday's totals as today's...

Nothing I have tried worked.  So I waited and waited until another update came out for the fitbit Android app.  One was dropped earlier this week and my issues have been magically solved.

Hi, @Mrfit231, welcome to the community, the app dashboard updates automatically when you open the app. To be certain you are looking at the most up to date data on the "Today" screen tiles I find it's a good idea to update manually. A manual update can be easily triggered by sliding your finger down the "Today" screen & releasing it, a "Syncing your data" banner appears on the top of the screen & a progress indicator moves from left to right taking about 5 seconds. You do need the Bluetooth connection to be active.

I hope this helps.

Cheers

You are correct, that is how it should behave, and house it has in the past.  But even after triggering the manual update, the data on the dashboard doesn't change for upwards of 30 seconds after the update shows as complete.  And it's repeatable.  Happening nearly every time the app is opened or updated requested now days.  I have even uninstalled/reinstalled the app with no change

Hi, @Mrfit231, thanks for the update. Are you using a VPN? if so try syncing without it on. Another alternative is the equivalent of switch it off/switch on.

  1. Sync the app
  2. Go to your phone settings, clear cache & storage, and delete the app
  3. restart your phone.
  4. Reload the app from the Play Store
  5. reset your Fitbit device (you do not mention which one you are using)
  6. re-pair the device to the app on your phone

Let us know if this improves the syncing.

Cheers
