Just got an update to my android app to version 3.6. All that is listed it in the change log is, "Bug fixes and performance improvements". Download on my Samsung Galaxy Note 8. So far so good. Ionic still syncing up properly and no crashes.

@CivHunter Hopefully, this version works properly. Please let us know if anything changes with the app as far as not syncing properly / crashing / etc.

@SunsetRunnerNo issues with my Ionic. I will give it another day and then update the OS to V4 because I have the upgrade notice at the top of my App

Thanks for the update. Hopefully, this update will finally resolve all of the issues users have been having. I will update later on in case I have any issues.

I updated to the 3.6 Android version just now and the main goal...steps does pulsate. Not consistently like the blinking of all the goals in 3.5 but it does do it. Seems to be more when it refreshes the app. The syncing seems better but it still too early to tell since I just updated to this version.

Since the update to 3.6 today my Versa 1 is no longer displaying WhatsApp notifications. Text and email are still working fine. Tried resetting settings with no luck. Haven't done a factory reset yet.

So I updated to 3.6. Syncing was going good then it couldn't find device. Had to do the replace device and act like it was a new device and set it up. Linked the Versa once again to the app and redid the notifications and exercises once again. Starting syncing and receiving my notifications after that but this is getting old.
Why can't Fitbit get these updates to work right once and for all for us Android users???? Sigh.

I've now removed and readded my Versa, removed WhatsApp and reinstalled that. Reset WhatsApp notifications.
Notifications still work for SMS, email, Facebook messenger (as app) and Twitter (as app) but not for WhatsApp (both as the default message app or just as an app)

Well then syncing isn't working ....still keeps looking for the device.
The hourly step count isn't updating and when you go into the tile it crashes the app.
Ugh!!!!

@SunsetRunner. I'm still double checking all of the features before I update my OS on the Ionic and everything is working
I'm on Android 8 and my phone software is up to date and all I can do is be here and try to advise.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Cleared out the cache and force stop the app.
For now it seems to be ok but we will see.
Probably will be looking for another product that won't have the issues that have been going on with Fitbit and their useless updates.

Mine did exactly the same!

I'm also on Android Version 8 and my phone is updated as well.

No sorry, I think you've misunderstood. Mine updated but then wouldn't sync - couldn't find the device.

@Mellyj have you tried clearing out the cache and force stop the Fitbit app?

Yep, tried that. Works first time for the sync and then can't find device at all after that.

@Mellyj That happens every time I sync..It only takes a few seconds..normally... BUT..
Occasionally it prolongs and I switch the phone off and restart that.. If that problem persists I then restart my Ionic.. That clears the issue.
I put it down to interference in my house with Wifi's mobiles, hands free phones etc.. because my Kardia afib device complains of interference when I try to Bluetooth connect that to my phone..
I say that, because I also experience the Fibit Connect won't sync on my Windows 7 computer unless I switch my mobile phone off.
Otherwise everything works for me...

I agree with @Colinm39 here. People often forget (or don't even realise) how crowded the spectrum is that Bluetooth uses. Even on a good day Bluetooth has very limited bandwidth (the cost of low power). Throw in WiFi (yours and neighbours), other Bluetooth devices and even microwaves all fighting or saturating the spectrum, that limited bandwidth can disappear to almost nothing. I believe the users environment is the number one factor with these sync issues, and why some people have nothing but problems and others none at all (even with the same hardware).

@N8teGee Thanks for adding more technical depth to the syncing issue.. In our very adult house we are swamped with devices.
Because we now have Fibre Optic 100/40 speed for the internet which comes into a single point in the house I have reverted to a few Ethernet over AC points, wired Ethernet and range extenders for the portable landline phones.
So add to that, 6 computers, 2 x iPads, 6 x TV's and 4 x mobile phones and list goes on and on..
@Mellyj@SunsetRunner I have just updated to OS 4.0.1 on my Ionic and I have no issues with App 3.6. The update took 17 minutes on WiFi

I am experiencing the exact same behaviour as @Lox333 , since the update to v3.6 two days ago only some of the applications notifications appear on my Ionic watch and others don't.
Before the update all notifications worked perfectly, so I would like I would like to hope the issue is with the app version.
Will be nice to get some response from an admin from Fitbit on this.
