Android app distance and track information inaccurate after update

I've searched the community for something to address this problem but couldn't find anything. So I started this new topic. Hopefully, the moderator can find the appropriate place to post this since I've never had a problem that no one else has had. Peace.

After recent Fitbit app and Android updates, the app was not tracking distance accurately in my walks (I don't use my Fitbit watch during this activity). After days of trouble shooting, installing and uninstalling everything I accidently discovered that if the Android battery saving feature is activated on my phone, the GPS will not function correctly. From an AI search:  "...the battery-saving features on Android devices can affect the accuracy of the Fitbit app, particularly in tracking distance and other location-based metrics, as these features may limit GPS functionality. For the best accuracy, it's recommended to ensure that location services are fully enabled while using the app."

When I disabled the Android battery saving feature (under Settings/Battery/toggle off "Power saving") the distance tracking with GPS returned to normal!

I haven't tried this solution, but one other AI suggestion was to go to Settings/Apps/Fitbit/Battery and select Unrestricted.

Cheers!
