Whenever I try to record a walk in the android app, it will instead start to record a run. How do I fix this?

@NYA2019 Sorry to hear that you are no longer on Fitbit. It was not our intention to give you the impression that we don't care. As mentioned above, we are hoping to have this issue resolved in an upcoming app release. I'll update this thread as soon as I have more information to share.

I'm having the same issue. Says walk when I begin but records it as a run. Using Galaxy S9+ and Charge 2.

Um, no. Definitely not a jogger.

Welcome to the Forums @CarolynMc.

Thanks for sharing your experience and letting us know that you are also experiencing this situation.

In regards to the jogger situation, it is only a rank on the forums and has nothing to do with whether or not you are a jogger in real life or not. You can click here to read more about it.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Good news everyone! Man Very Happy

Our team has implemented a fix for this issue in the latest version of the Android app (version 2.89). If you have not done so already, I recommend updating your Fitbit app.

If you still have any issues with recorded walks not populating correctly, please let me know.

I did the upgrade and it is now working fine on my Alta
Best Answer

No it off not @Barrry  this error never had anything to do with your Ultra's but with the Fitbit app.

Your Alta has always been able to record your walk as a walk, but you have been using the Fitbit App, not the Alta

I've justed tested the app on my Charge 2 and Samsung S9, and it's recording Walks as Walks finally!

Thanks for the solution Matt, but just some feedback; it's taken since mid-January (nearly 6 weeks) to resolve this which I don't think is good enough. Thanks again for your help though.

Huge thanks to everyone for their patience as our team worked to resolve this issue. Since many of you have confirmed that walks are now being recorded correctly, I will close this thread to further comments.

For anyone who has not done so, please update your Android app to version 2.89. If you are experiencing any other issues with recording walks, please feel free to start a new thread on this board.

Thanks again, all!
