Hello @bertrub and welcome to the Community.  Android 9 is the minimum Android OS for the Fitbit app. I looked at your public profile and it looks like you might be a new user.  If you are a new user, then I don't think you can download the Fitbit app from the Google Play Store.  I use an iPhone an the Apple App store won't let me download an app if I don't have the minimum OS.  Android 9 has been the minimum OS for a while.

If I misread your post, can you give more details?

Oh, I could download the app all right, and so far everything I tried has worked just fine. It's just when I start the app, it claims that in order for all the functions to work I need minimum Android version 9.
