Ever since downloading the newest version of the fit bit app, it is causing my lg g4 to overheat and drain the battery. What can I do to fix this? I love using this app.

Hey @Roseteach, this seems like an odd situation; since the Fitbit App is not meant to overheat or drain your phone's battery.

 

I recommend to rule out some potentially battery-consuming processes from the Fitbit App, please disable All Day Sync and Always Connected on your settings,  remove any Fitbit Widgets you've added to your dashboard, kill the app and restart your phone, open the app again and close it as you normally would, check in your phone's settings if you have the option to stop or temporarily disable battery consuming programs.

The overheating is caused by rapid battery usage/drain - my phone does that, for example, when I use it for a WiFi Hot Spot.

 

Go into your phone's Settings, Battery, Usage, and see what is draining the battery.  Mine was being drained by the FitBit app after I upgraded to the Android verion 2.26.  I ended up clearing cache & data, uninstalling the app, shutting down the phone and restarting it, and then re-installing the FitBit app. Didn't have any problem with it after that.

This same exact thing happened to me. I have a Samsung Galaxy 6s and for an entire year not a single problem. Then the phone started overheating like crazy!! I actually had Verizon send me a replacement as mine was still under warranty. Now my replacement is doing the same thing. At this point I have realized it's clearly not the phone. Then I realized the phone started acting up withing a cpl days of getting my fitbit. I deletes the app and since then no overheating. Im also going to try the tips from this thread.
