App crashing

2 days in a row, my app has crashed just as I finish my walks. It loses my data, my map of route...everything. I have to refer to S Health for my walking information so I can at least log my walk. This is getting frustrating. Any suggestions? Galaxy 5 Andriod phone with Charge 2

Charge User since April 2015, desperately need an updated Charge (super glue is finally giving up). Just got the Charge 2 (2/23/2017).

Well, the first thing I do anytime an app on my phone is crashing is uninstall, reboot and reinstall.  If you do that, you'll have to reset all your preferences, but it eliminates a bad install or corruption as the issue.  If you try that and it works, please make your issue as solved.  Thanks and best of luck!

Even if the app crashes, the tracker should still have the data.

Did you try looking at the fitbit.com dashboard, and seeing if the exercise is there? Also, try starting the exercise mode manually and see if that works better (or use auto-detect if you're already doing a manual exercise mode).

If the app is reinstalled, then the tracker will automatically sync that track once the software is communicating well again.  Most likely, since it crashed immediately upon completion, it didn't have time to sync with the web -- but you never know.  You can look there for it.  But that doesn't solve your crashing app issue.

I tried that yesterday since this is not the first time an app has crashed on me. Still happened today. IT is something with their latest update, more than likely.

I checked that first and nope. It was not recorded. Luckily my S Health automatically records my walking. I just manually record from that info. Even though S Health is usually a little slower than what FITBIT says, I still use that info since it is documented on that app. (challenges).

Well, that sure could be.  I know they've had problems lately with tracks saving, sleep details are now missing.  Maybe if we're patient another update will be out soon to address these issues.  The latest update didn't say specifically what it addressed, referring to "bug fixes" -- so we don't know which issues have been addressed.

My wife had the same problems with her galaxy s5 mini. App crashes while adding waterintake since last update. Resetting phone and uninstalling/installing app did not help. I had to download the previous APK from a not-official appstore and installed it. Crashes disappeared and everything is working again.
