App insists on location

App keeps insisting that I turn on location to sync in addition to Bluetooth. I don't want it on, plus it drains the battery. I have tried turning"automatic location" in settings both on and off and nothing stops the annoying message.

@Ellmox Which Android version is your phone currently on? In order to find this out, go to this page in your Android browser and it will let you know.

 

If your device is on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, I recommend checking out my post here for more information on why you need location services turned on for Bluetooth syncing.

@Ellmox Sorry, I should have clarified that I was asking for the Android OS version of your phone software, not the Fitbit App. If you click on this link, it will tell you the exact Android OS version.
