I have a Pixel Watch 3 and use the Fitbit app on Android, I don't have mobile tracking enabled and the Fitbit app does not have permission to access physical activity on my Pixel 9 phone. However, when I do a walk and it's automatically detected it keeps saving in the exercises section of the app saying Fitbit for Android and because of this it doesn't show any pace data etc.
It's really annoying because I don't want my phone to be tracking, if I wanted my phone to track my walks and steps I wouldn't have bought the watch...

Hello @KyleB04
That's strange, considering that you don't have your phone as a connected device in the Fitbit app.
Although I'm not sure that this will work, have you tried clearing the cache for the Fitbit app on your phone? If that doesn't clear what's generating that data, you might want to try clearing the data/storage for the Fitbit app.
Just to let you know, you will need to log back in to the Fitbit app after clearing the storage/data.

I've just cleared the cache, I'll have to see what happens tomorrow when I go for my daily walk and see what the auto detected activity says then whether that be Fitbit for Android or if it actually begins using my watch.
Will post an update tomorrow.

Clearing cache sadly made no difference, I'm so confused why everything is being tracked as Fitbit for Android

@KyleB04 I wear a Fitbit, not a PW, but I get exercise details like yours from a feature called SmartTrack. Except that mine say Fitbit or iOS. I searched the Pixel Watch Help site and I don't see it mentioned. When I tap on my profile picture in the Fitbit app > Fitbit settings > Exercise, I get a screen that looks like this (Android version might be different):
Is this on your Fitbit app? I also want to clarify something for you. Mobile tracking can't generate activity details like your screenshot.

Hello @LZeeW my exercise page does look exactly like that and I have them all enabled, I assume is they are disabled then my watch won't auto detect activities or is that separate?

@KyleB04 Yes, tap on each one to get to the toggle to turn it off. This path only controls SmartTrack (auto-recognition). It looks like the PW can start the Exercise app for certain exercises, just like a Fitbit. It looks like your PW settings are different from my Fitbit settings. I can't help you if they start to bug you once you have this feature off. 😉

@LZeeW So to confirm if I disable all those in the app, my pixel watch will still automatically detect walks and runs?

Isn't your pixel watch connected to Fitbit. The watch is auto tracking your walks.
Auto track walks / Runs / Bike do not report distance without GPS on. Without distance you won't get pace.
Yes you can set the watch to turn on GPs during a detected walk.
Your phone is not doing the auto detect, unless, through the Fitbit App, you turn that option on.

@Rich_Laue Yes my watch is connected to Fitbit but you saying my watch is tracking the walks can't be true if every single exercise in my Fitbit app says Fitbit for Android indicating it was tracked by my phone.
In terms of having the watch GPS on during auto detected workouts I'm not sure how to do that I can't seem to find it.

I don't understand why it's so complicated, if my exercises are showing as logged by Fitbit for Android that must mean surely that it's my phone tracking it otherwise it would specifically say Pixel Watch 3, correct?
Secondly, as another user said for me to disable the auto recognition on the app on my phone, my question is, will that not just stop my watch from auto detecting?
I feel like I'm running around in circles with this watch because surely if it was my watch tracking my data then why when I look at my exercises in the app do they all explicitly say Fitbit for Android unless I manually start them on my watch.

Information:
So my questions are as followed:
I'm sorry for all the questions it just doesn't make sense to me, this watch was an upgrade from my Samsung Watch which had no issues syncing data from the watch and phone but this Pixel Watch is just confusing me as I genuinely don't understand if my watch is the device auto tracking my walks or if it's my phone.
All I want to get to the bottom of is why every single automatically detected walk logs as "Fitbit for Android".

@KyleB04 in your app, tap the top right to go to settings. Do you see your phone listed as a device?
