Hi, I'm Craig I'm new I just bought a charge 3 and started to log calories but the Barcode scanner is broken, it's always either not finding the barcode or selecting something completely random, I've checked and my and my food database is correctly set to United Kingdom

What fitbit doesn't tell you is the barcode scanner only works with the USA food database. So if you're not in the states they don't care.
People have complained about this for years. Welcome to fitbit's idea of customer service. Have a nice day.

Are you sure? Why do they show the barcode button when I'm set to the United Kingdom product database, surely they could just hide it if its not supported in this region? It's a shame I used to barcode reading on MyFitnessPal all the time, is there anyway I can link the apps and use their UK database?

From what I have seen in the forum a lot of people use Myfitnesspal. I understand that it can be linked to fitbit but as I don't use it I'm sorry I can't tell you how.
As for the barcode scanner, if you put that in as a query you will see all the other disappointed people, myself included.
I suggest you start a new thread asking how to link MFP to fitbit as I expect that will get you lots of help.
Good luck.
