Battery Drain and Excessive Data Usgae

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Since the last update of the fitbit app for Android I have noticed that the fitbit app is using a lot of battery power. I was once able to get over a day of battery life. Now I am in need of charging constantly.

Also I have noticed that the app seem to use a lot of data. 1.17GD of data was used in just under a month. That seems excessive for an app like this.

I am having the same exact issue. I normally have great battery life, but it is currently draining my second charge of the day and my battery monitor is stating that 20% of the drain is coming from the FitBit app.

Hi there

A lot of people are having this same issue. Fitbit is aware of it. Check this page:

Here is the original thread that Fitbit (for some reason) moved to the ionic forum.

https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Ionic/Mobile-data-usage-increased/td-p/2807070

Bottom Line:  No fix yet

Bottom Line2:  They are supposed to be working on a fix

Bottom Line3:  I'm not sure where Fitbit would notify us when this is fixed.

1) The thread moved back to where it has started:

2) Fitbit seems to handle this issue serious (at least), with a closed beta test:
