In case you haven't worked it out, for those of you who, like me, really relied on the feature in the old software showing the percentage of battery life remaining, here is the very poor replacement. From the Home screen on the app, select the Phone and watch symbol in the top left of screen. Then select the device you have. All you get is low, medium, full. No percentage. I know, rubbish right. The new software has brought in the need for more key depressions, not great for my arthritic fingers, to get less information. I don't often say this but the people who designed the new software need firing.

Yes, good points, why gray, everything else on the display is larger and bright white. Just makes it harder.

Nicky is 100% correct. I don’t have arthritis but the new complete lack of visibility of battery life is awful. I have had my fitbit die twice in the last month bc i never see a status. Honestly its enough that i might go apple. Im told the charge now lasts so why not. This is my third fitbit but a huge issue.

The NEW update does not show battery percentage left, like the old one say full for 2 days, now watch say 67% and app say medium, what is medium. Bring back percentage.

Fitbit just confirmed in latest blog that the percentage is coming back in next app update!

My old eyes can’t read the tiny font of the charge percentage on charge 5.

I do not like the new app either. The design looks cheap. The font is too large. You have to search for past statistics. The battery status is useless. Also, what's the point of moving my account to Google? I wish I could get the old app back. Off the top of my head, that's all I can think of.

Does anyone else's device rush to 99% and then stay there for over 2 hours? Mine has done that since day one so "battery full" could mean it's finally hit 100% or it could mean that it will drain to 30% within an hour.
Fitbit is getting worse by the device, worse by the update, worse by the day.

do we blame this on google? I really miss the battery level indicator. I'd happily trade the calorie indicator for the battery

Yes, to the 99%, then stall. No, to the drains to 30% within an hour. The Charge 5 battery lasts nicely, almost the entire week.

Who can see the itsy bitsy, light battery percentage on their Fitbit watch? Oh that’s right, Superman with xray vision. Fitbit, get the message????

@ecl6gb "doesn’t want its customers to know the percentage battery charge of their devices for some reason." could be but that would be implying the Google UI team who wrecked the Fitbit app was thinking usability matters through, I seriously doubt that seeing this crap load of UI/UX decision made not only for the missing battery percentage but also on a lot of other places. I rather think the Google team responsible for this app disaster never used a fitness tracker by themselves nor track daily and sport activities with an fitness app. Otherwise you can't really explain the obviously wrong choices and decision they made over and over here in mess up this once great app.

I do not like this app update either, maybe it is time to look into a different tracker....

Hi @Eileen1998 - probably best to post in "The redesigned Fitbit app is rolling out!" topic in this forum along with the other unhappy users where you will see more fully the issues.
Unfortunately it would seem likely you are stuck with this version officially. Though there may be some tweaks over time already mentioned there, and it could take months with this test version to get it working anywhere near like the old version.

Agree! Percentage needs to be reinstated!

The current battery indicator on the app does not work. I am charging my Fitbit and I checked where it can be checked in the app & it just has an image of a battery (no percentage) and it says “battery full”. I go over to my Fitbit because maybe I can put it on now & it’s done charging & nope, it is only at 87%. Please return the battery level indicator on the app back to where it shows the specific percentage. The indicator in the app is now useless.

Thank you so much! This new has its frustrations. I have been looking for battery level since new app appeared. I need to know when to charge it in advance so I can plan my day activities
