Battery Life display on the app

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

In case you haven't worked it out, for those of you who, like me, really relied on the feature in the old software showing the percentage of battery life remaining, here is the very poor replacement. From the Home screen on the app, select the Phone and watch symbol in the top left of screen. Then select the device you have. All you get is low, medium, full. No percentage. I know, rubbish right. The new software has brought in the need for more key depressions, not great for my arthritic fingers, to get less information. I don't often say this but the people who designed the new software need firing.

Yes but some of us have to use reading glasses and that is a REAL bummer!    Are they not going to fix the app on the phone to display the battery indicator?????

Best Answer

@dotface - see my earlier post, or answer to your other post. There is no time frame for any fixes unfortunately.

The easiest solution would have been to enable the old app officially but it was not done, despite all the requests.

I agree. Bring back % in the app

If you have perfect vision or a magnifying glass. I can't read the Fitbit percentage on the charge 5 it's too small. Even with prescription reading glasses it's hard to see and read.

On the Sense 2 when you swipe down to get to the screen that has the settings option, the percentage charge is at the bottom of the screen.

On the screen, the text is so small it is useless.

I have the Inspire 3 and the device does not show battery strength until it is about to run out. I relied on the app. This update was the worst of dumbing down.

It is pretty small!

Then again who says these great minds who redesigned are anything but. A great company listens to its users. A poor company just does as it pleases and expects the sheep to follow. Sorry i am not a lemming or sheep. If there was a beta program for testing i would love to view the polling but i suspect not. UI devs listen to ideas from actual customers, Fitbit did not. Net result poor design and customer complaints.

I'm with Nickyhelp on this one. The upgrade is a downgrade.

You can use the swipe on your charge 4 but only if you have the eyesight of a hawk. I didn't know you could get a font so small.   Maybe fitbit is only designing for 20 year old now as they don't seem to be user friendly to mature users.

first, it won't swipe down, one has to swipe up. Secondly, one can't get to settings that way. Two swipes left to get to the settings option. There is no battery % there.

This is so ridiculous. My next watch will not be a Fitbit - gradually going down hill

I love the sleep monitoring ...  any suggestions on a different watch that does as well???

I agree 100%. All the information used to be on one screen and now the battery information is buried into very nearly uselessness. Who decides to bury one of the most important pieces of information this way? Honestly, when I look at my app I need to see my battery life and the activity of my day without having to stop and dig for it.

I've started taking the watch off and putting it on the charger just to see the % charged.  Usually I immediately put it back on. This is a definite PITA

Yeah, I have to unclip my tracker from my clothing to see it.  I have the Inspire and Inspire 2. It is inconvenient and not good for the tracker clips because you have to tug on them to remove from clothing which wears out the clips because they get stretched out. Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

I haven’t found one that also has the other functions I use. I tried a
another brand but it didn’t have a calorie counter so I went back to
Fitbit.

Update and Great News!

The battery percentage is now being displayed on the app in the upper left hand corner of the main page.   I have an Inspire and an Inspire 2 clip.  Perhaps they listened to users complaints. Now if they can change the funky display to look like the old display, that would be great!

Totally agree. Now I can only tell if my battery needs recharging by putting on my glasses and trying to focus on such small % amount on my charge 5 tracker (hard to see outside too). On top of which I’ve not had my charge 5 for 2 years yet and after doing everything generic from customer help, Im still having to charge three times a day. I have gps turned off etc etc. I use for health stats. Very disappointed Fitbit. Look after your client base or you won’t have one.

Has there been a recent (this week) update?

It’s really sad because the charge 2 was awesome and I loved my charge 5 for 12 months. Had nothing but trouble since. Now I’m having to charge it three times a day. I’m not getting another fitbit. Should last longer than 18 months.

The percentage still showing up on my charge 4 ... there is a symbol you can click on but all it does is show you that it's been synced and a battery and you have to kind of guess at what percentage it is
