Blaze and Samsung Note 8 incompatibility?

Yesterday I received my new Samsung Note 8 and of course my Fitbit Blaze will not sync.

Any word on the fix to this problem?

I am having a similar problem. I have a Note 8 as well, but am getting a "Paring rejected by Flex" message. 😞

I got my Blaze to sync with my Note 8 as far as sending data back and forth and so on. But I cannot get the Blaze and Note to play nice together insofar as controlling music via Blaze. Don't know if it will help, but this is what I did:

1) Turned off the Note 8.

2) Powered down the Blaze.

3) Turned on the Note 8 and verified the Bluetooth was on and discoverable.

4) Turned the Blaze on.

5) When the Note found the Blaze, set it all up. (Did NOT use Classic mode on the Blaze.)

6) Disappointed the Blaze will not change music selections.

Dunno if any of this helps, I would guess you likely have done all of it though. Hope it helps!

After reading this I went into settings and tapped Bluetooth classic it switched to pair turned Bluetooth off and back on then Blaze classic appeard on my phone then tapped that got a code and selected yes that it matched on both devices and  voila it works and works with music. Have to get that code on both devices 😉

@TheNev23, if you are switching phones you do not have to set anything up.

Install the Fitbit app

Log into your Fitbit account

Your good to go, the app should start a sync with your tracker.

I have the app installed and am logged I to my account. The Flex still
rejects pairing with the phone.

What screen in the Fitbit app are you looking at @TheNev23 when the Flex rejects pairing.

Maybe a screen shot?

Is the Blaze Classic paired to your phone @Kip0225?

You need to accept on the Blaze first, then the phone?

Blaze Classic and Blaze paired on the phone. I'm wondering if the issue is
phone side or might be with my music player (PowerAmp).

But at any rate, everything works except the music control.

It rejects it in the app and when not in the app.

Try holding your fitbit really close to your phone. It worked for me.

My Fit bit only paired when the Note 8 found the Fit bit under "Blaze Classic". When it found it as just "Blaze" Fitbit would reject it. I had to turn off blaze classic mode, Restart both devices, turn blaze classic to pair and press scan in the Note 8. It found it as Blaze Classic and it paired.

I was able to get mine to sync, but my blaze and Note 8 constantly disconnect and I have to manually reconnect them. It's extremely irritating.

After having the Blazer for almost a year now I am convinced that there is a design flaw when dealing with Samsung phones and Fitbit blazes. The Blaze, more than not, will reject the pairing with my phone. This is the blaze that is at fault and not because I missed downloaded anything. I have updated my app every time an update comes up, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. The problem is not on my side. Fitbit needs to address this problem and figure out what is the real problem. I almost sure it is a software problem because my phone's Bluetooth sees the blaze and wants to pair with it. I really hope Fitbit takes notice, because if they cannot correct this problem then I will be looking for a new smartwatch that will pair with my phone and do what it is I like about Fitbit. There is no reason that I can go weeks without my watch connecting with my phone, there is no reason I should have to pay for more hardware to get it to connect to my computer, and there is no reason this product should leave me constantly feeling frustrated. It even goes as far as my watch dying, and then I have the incorrect time on it for days and days because it will not pair with my phone and update the time. Telling people that they must not be doing something correctly and thus is the problem for why for Fitbit will not connect is not solving the problem. I looked at post after post of people have the same problem of the phone and the watch not connecting; it is more than user error.

@Stardreamer333 you say you have the Blaze for a year. You mention that the Blaze rejects the pairing, your phone might want to pair the Blaze but the Blaze does not want to be paired this way.

I assume you are trying to pair the Blaze through the Bluetooth screen on the phone? If so then you should be seeing the reject by Blaze message, since the pairing of the tracker is done by the Fitbit app.

I would restart the phone. And tracker, remove the Blaze from the phone Bluetooth and clear the cache of the   Fitbit's app
