I have tried restarting the app and the blaze (multiple times) and it still won't sync up..

Thanks for letting me know that you have tried to restart both. In this case, I'd like to ask you two questions:
In the meantime I'd recommend that you try to turn off the Bluetooth on your mobile device and then turn it back on. Sometimes doing this helps the syncing to work correctly.
