Blocking FitBit App from Accessing Phone's Accelerometer

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I am participating in a company fitness challenge using the StrideKick (FKA "MatchUp") to compile steps across the organization from various manufacturer's devices. I am using the FitBit's manual step entry as I am using a tracker that StrideKick does not support. However, in addition to the steps I manually log, the phone's built in accelerometer is recording steps as well, resulting in an erroneous step count. I need to use my manual entry as the true count, as I do not keep my phone with me all the time.

Is there a way to prevent the FitBit App on my Android phone from accessing my phone's recorded steps?

Thank you for your help!

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @BeanCounter882, hope you're doing great today! I'd recommend taking a look at our How do I track my exercise and activities with Fitbit? article to choose the best option for you.

Happy stepping!
