Hi Fitbit developers,
The total sum of my calories is off. This has happened for the last 2 days and what happens is somewhere around night time, the total just suddenly drops. Not sure what is happening?
Would attach screenshots but not sure how to do so. But for e.g. yesterday I had 317 cals for breakfast, 992 cals for lunch, and 662 calories for dinner. The app puts it as 0 calories in, 2035 calories out.
Moderator edit: Subject for clarity.

I am having the same issue. Nothing I've entered after lunch has been included in the total, alright it shows in the log and appears to be reflected in my macros.
ETA, I am adding the foods through the app and not quick calories which seems to be where others had an issue previously.

Quick calories aren't counting for current day. I added for other days and they did update after a few minutes. Today's calories still have not updated

I'm having the same issue. Mine started on Thursday. It shows the food I logged in the app along with the calorie count but on the chart and dashboard shows 0 calories for food. Everything I logged since is showing but still registering 0 calories. It's not tracking macros either.

I'm also adding through the app but it's also not registering my macros.

I’m having a similar issue. Logging food throughout the day, with calorie counts shown and correctly totalled, however the total resets to zero at midnight (exactly at midnight, I’ve checked!). The food items and sub totals are still visible, but the full total is shown as zero. The only way I can get the full total is to either add up the sub totals manually (!!) or click ‘share’ and find the total there.
Screenshot to show this started happening four days ago. All individual food totals are there if you scroll down to previous days, but each days total, and the graph, shows zero calories.
This is extremely inconvenient, so please look into the issue.

Same. I use a mix of Android App and browser to enter details in the food log and the APP details aren't showing in the web browser but details from both show up in the APP but the calories don't. The totals are screwy. In the App I have replicated entries. I have to manually add up my meal periods to get an accurate total of calories consumed. The problem started a few days ago

Further information: the resetting at midnight is clearly a one-off event. If you wait til after midnight, then log a food item for the previous day, the total shows the value of that food item, and it stays.
Looks to me as if at some point in the code, a developer has picked the wrong variable to reset! For example, instead of cals_out = 0 they have put cals_in = 0. Should be pretty easy to find and fix!

I had to back everything out and reenter it... I dont use the quick add but do use the custom foods... even on days that I'm only using items in the actual library it's an issue... I think it's just a glitch in the programming of the update... its definitely more finicky now... just want it to go back to how it was.

Exactly like you - i use a combination of APP and web browser, and browser entered items seem to save but not the app.

Me too. Also noticed it isn't updating or recording naps consistently for a few days now too.

Hello everyone! Thanks for your posts regarding the calorie count and food log not saving the entries on the Fitbit app.
This was a major issue that affected most of the users. People have shared that uninstalling the app and installing it again worked for them. I was never affected by this, so I can only suggest you try what worked for other users. It seems to be working just fine now. Hope this helps!
Have a nice day!

Yes this has resolved the issue for me. Thank you.

This seems to have fixed it for me too. Anything entered only on my phone since the trouble began disappeared because it seems never to have synced with the server. But things I entered on the website is still there. Thank you.

This is what's happening to me, too. The food I logged yesterday and Wednesday was showing up in the details, but the total consumed calories in the chart are showing as zero. But even more than that, I deleted the app and reinstalled it to see if that would help, and now all of the food I logged yesterday and Wednesday is completely gone, as well.

Additionally, I also noticed that none of the food items I'd logged the past couple days are showing up in my recent items list

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and it appeared to be working. But after a few days of tracking, I realize that it is not. I can add foods in the app, and they do seem to stay "saved" but the total at the top of the detail screen is actually the total from the previous day. When I look at the bar graph at the top, the bars are off by a day (the calories consumed on Sunday are showing for Monday, and Monday's calorie total is displayed as Tuesday's total). The total on the dashboard seems to be correct, but when I'm adding for today on the detail screen the total isn't working and is showing yesterday's total instead.

Turns out, it didn't completely fix the problems. I explained my issues with totals in a reply up above.
