Calorie target

Hi,

I don't enter calorie consumption at all. But the app has set me a daily calorie burn target of 3100.

I've no idea how this is set, or what it means if I achieve it. If it's to lose weight or anything ? All I see is I get a 'star' on the days I hit it

I'm male, 35, 90kg, 190cm.

Can anyone help with this please?

I don't think anybody knows how that goal gets set.  For me, with no weight goal or calorie intake counting, it seems to roughly correspond to when I get 10 K steps, but other people have said they rarely reach calorie burn goal even with 10 K steps.

To me daily calorie burn is a useful number as it shows in one number how much activity I got in the day.  But I would say anyone should consider the goal flexible and feel free to set it to whatever might be useful for you.

Perhaps it gets adjusted and is used with a weight goal and food tracking, but I don't know.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
