Calories seems to be inaccurate

Telling me I am burning more calories then it should.  Also as of today when I awaken it already told  me I burn 985 calories. also it reading I burn 1305 calories with 1432 steps  and 0 minutes  this cant be right

Hi there @stockups, let me give you a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community! I was reading your post and in my opinion your calories are correct. Note that your tracker even if you are not doing any exercise, it will constantly read your BMR.

 

I'm sure you know this, but just for informational purposes, your BMR is the rate at which you burn calories as a result of maintaining vital body functions. These functions include breathing and heartbeat and brain activity, among others. So your BMR usually accounts for at least half of the calories you burn in a day.

 

These calories start counting right after your tracker resets the data at midnight, so those 985 calories you had in the morning are counting right after midnight. On top of your BMR you will have the calories from your activity, so the total count will increase at the end of the day.
