Can't connect Pixel Watch with Fitbit Account

Tried all the fixes on here, google pixel watch won't connect to pixel 8 fitbit app - been trying for hours with fitbit and google support and no luck there at all. 

Pixel 8 on android 14 with up to date fitbit app on a google account. 
Pixel watch up to date firmware and fitbit app. 

Repeatedly get stuck at the connecting stage - just can't find the watch. 

Tried factory resetting uninstalling apps, clearing caches etc. please help

I'm seeing other Pixel Watch users starting to report that they are now able to sync with the Fitbit app. So, the issue may have been fixed.
