On the new app, on Android on a pixel 7.

The Edit Exercise panel allows me to properly edit Date, Start time and Duration, but the keyboard is not showing up when I try to update the Activity.

Definitely not. Please start new reports. Maybe fitbit will start to appreciate the size of the problem and our increasing frustration.

Hello everyone. Welcome to the new comers.

Thanks for your feedback. I appreciate you taking the time to post about editing the exercises on the Fitbit app.

Rest assured that this has been and forwarded already. Fitbit is working on a solution. There is a workaround though. You can edit any activity over the Fitbit.com website. Log in and tap/click on "Log" at the top of the screen. Tap then on "activities" and you will be shown the list of your activities. Tap on the pencil icon next to the desired training session. There you have the option to edit the exercise type.

I am very sorry, this option does not work for me.

I cannot change an exercise designated a run to a walk.

Where it states a “walk” there is the pencil but where there is stated a “run” there is no pencil.

I have been with Fitbit for many years (my 3rd Fitbit),  in the future, I will move to alternative monitoring solution, because Fitbit cannot supply the monitoring solution I purchased and require.

I do not believe Fitbit is taking this seriously.

Sadly... this option will not allow me to update the dates that I need to update, Dec 9th, since I did not get this info in time for that option to work.  Please get this fixed soon... I saw other posts for this issue that shows this has been going on since the beginning of October at a minimum, which is when I first started having the issue, and at least one update has been released since that was reported.  I had hoped that those other repots showing answered meant that the fix was coming soon.

This doesn't work, there is only a pencil icon on some activities. It's seem to only be there for activities that have been auto detected. I play squash and the closest activity I can select is tennis and I can't edit those like I could before the big app change.

Nope. I USED to use the workaround which was a pain but possible. It no longer works. I should have known there would be problems when my sister and I both bought a new charge 5 at the same time and, no matter what we tried, we could not get the same exercises listed on our watches and apps. We put it down to maybe my phone being from the UK and hers in the US although both Charge 5s were purchased in the US and we have the exact same phone. When I bought my first Fitbit I loved it and have remained loyal despite lots of issues. But this one might be the final straw. I appreciate that a resolution to the problem can be tricky but then you should leave us with the option of retaining the old app which was much better.

Also, calories per minute is no longer displayed. Hope it will be added
back.

I agree with you 100%, the "work around" is not only tricky for some, for many including myself it does not work at all and wasted our time trying as nothing is saved no matter how many times to try to go back and edit the incorrectly auto-recognized activities.

It's funny how they cancel support to upload data from our devices using our desktop computers, making us use the mobile application than that application has a flaw in it's update and we are told to try to use a work around on a web brower/desktop  computer that does not work for many if not all.

----

For me I have the pencil icon when log-on on my computers browser however no matter what I do my edits are never saved.

----

Wow they are " considering " fixing a bug they caused, I am so touched  ( rolling eyes ).

----

Exactly, that non-working work-around does not work for myself or many others.

I am just glad Fitbit does not manufacture vehicles (UGH).

Less than 1/4 of my exercises for this calendar year even have an edit option. The one I need to edit, which was from two days ago, has no edit option. Why would this be the case?

How is there still not a fix for this? This worked fine in the old app and now has not worked for months. It never categories my workouts properly, yet I cannot edit them anymore.

Maybe that was supposed to be incentive to upgrade to the new Charge.

I still have this issue and it’s very annoying - has yours been fixed yet?

Best Answer
Nope nothing fixed. You think they would of tested the update before they rolled it out. At least go back to the previous version if they can't fix it. Almost like it's a planned obsolescence to get you the newer model fitbit

The bug still hasn't been fixed yet.

I want to change from "Walk" to "Hike" so I can keep track of my hikes but it won't let me, as you said. You can click on the activity but no keyboard shows up.

I'm running Android v13

Jan 2, 2024, still not fixed. The last app update still sucks. This is my last fitbit, ever.

January 2, 2024 and the bug is still not fixed. I cross-country daily and there is no shortcut for that activity on my Charge 5 so I used to record it as "Hike" ou "Outdoor sport", then change it to cross-country ski in the iOS app.

I can't do it anymore it's so annoying. I am paying for Fitbit premium!! Hey Moderators, where are the updates? Did you really escalated the problem to the engineers?

Best Answer

Hi, are there any updates on this issue? My Fitbit app is up to date but I'm still unable to edit the activity type.

Best Answer

Just got a sense and this is not working. I cannot edit.
