On the new app, on Android on a pixel 7.
The Edit Exercise panel allows me to properly edit Date, Start time and Duration, but the keyboard is not showing up when I try to update the Activity.

Going into the fifth month of this thread being active, but several years of me personally experiencing this issue even before the major app update. I've given upon fitbit and stopped wearing my tracker. I don't want to support or represent a company that is so incredibly lazy and cares so little about the users that keep it alive.

Mods started removing my posts complaining about this bug when I said I premium wasn't worth it if they can't fix something this simple.
Actually rage inducing that some mod is removing posts from paying customers reporting defective software. Get a new job.

I will be cancelling my Premium (not so premium) memebership as soon as the free trial is completed.
Premuim is not worth the money if the basic App does not function correctly.
I wish had never purchased a replacement Charge 5 Fitbit and used the money to purchase a Garmin.
Somebody at Fitbit should be taking notice of the postings about the now!!! very poor Fitbit App and not keep sending email about upgrade to a newer model.

@autodan They removed one of my posts because I mentioned replacing my Fitbit with an 🍎 watch because of the issues with the update and the fact that they took away challenges. They said it was "off-topic and not contributing to the conversation." I'm sure it was because I mentioned their competitor.

@Stephie71 yup that was the "reason" they gave me too.
Saying "this bug has been alive for MONTHS with no communication from the company reduces user confidence in your 'premium' product" is the absolute epitome of "on-topic".
My vote is to remove mods for being off-topic and continuing to garner community hate.
Where can paying customers go to get actual feedback and support for our purchased items? This clearly isn't working. Anyone know if they actually do their jobs elsewhere?

I'm just livid that we're forced into this archaic form of support only to have our posts removed when we're reporting defects. I will be happy to provide this company and their 3rd rate software with 0-1 star reviews on every single review site possible. Something needs to be done. Someone from fitbit needs to learn some responsibility and accountability. They should at minimum be responding to months of customer submissions and complaints.

I have been trying to change a Run exercise to a Walk ever since the App update but it is not possible.
Even with telephone support from Fitbit staff.
The Fitbit App is a joke.😡😡😡

@CPotato wrote:Indeed: “How is there not a fix for this?!” I have a theory.
IF the programmers all wore Fitbits, they would likely be quite motivated to fix the issue. They would be as -annoyed- as we are! My guess, IF they use any fitness tracker at all, it’s probably an Apple Watch or similar device. Their motivation therefore, would be quite lacking, and that is what we have seen.
Unfortunately it's probably annoying the hell out of the devs as well.
If we could get some product ownership from the business team at Fitbit to prioritize fixing their buggy software instead of sending us MORE UPGRADE TO PREMIUM PUSH NOTIFICATIONS; we'd have a pretty sweet app. But nah, no1 working there it seems.

Well into January now, and still no fixes. This is a bad look. I'm going to experiment with side loading an old pre September version of the app and report back.
Edit: Ok so I went to "ehhh peeee kayyy" mirror, and downloaded a July 2023 version of the Fitbit app. Installed it and everything is back to normal. Sign in works, sync works, old interface is back and editing the exercise types works. I'm sure this comment will get deleted shortly. Feel free to spam the same fix. Shame that we are forced to sideload an app.

Hi, it might be helpful if fitbit could concentrate on fixing this or give an idea of when it might be fixed as opposed to moderating comments in this string….?!

Users have wanted a dark mode for a decade and we didn't get that so I would disagree.

Problem still isn't resolved as of 1/6/24. Pretty frustrating, auto logging wrong activity. Using a Pixel 8.

I've started just leaving awful Fitbit reviews everywhere I can and telling my friends and PT clients not to touch them with a barge pole. If you want a fitness tracker, Fitbit is simply no longer a contender, it's a joke.

Could you explain how to revert to an older version please? I have been very frustrated with the new App, much worse that what it replaced. I was walking the Pennine Way in the UK in August/September 2023 and every day set my tracker to follow me for the day, at night i was able to see a map of where i had walked with times for each mile. The new App wiped all my records clean, shows some of the walks now as "Sport". It is impossible still to change an activity from what the "Auto" thinks it should be. If this is a foretaste of AI we are all in for some miserable times, where we can't any more be individuals but has to do what the system says!

I'm even MORE annoyed today, as somehow, out of nowhere, my watch has decided that my, admittedly fast, walking speed is a run. So it looks like I've done 5 very slow very short runs today, and posted them all to Strava. That would be ok IF I COULD EDIT IT on my phone!! But no, unless I go plug in a laptop, go to the website, faff around there.....And I paid money for this! Grrrr!

This is the problem I have since last October.
My fast walking, I could always change within the App from Run to Walk but not now.
It is now impossible to change any Run to a Walk with either using the App or the website.
Fitbit customer support told me this is what customers requested.
Even when you write to a Moderator about the problem, there is no response but they soon take down negative postings.
