On the new app, on Android on a pixel 7.

The Edit Exercise panel allows me to properly edit Date, Start time and Duration, but the keyboard is not showing up when I try to update the Activity.

No update at this time.

Perhaps we have to go online and keep posting telling people not to buy a Fitbit device if you have an android phone.

Hi, @Clcarolinag , unfortunately I am not privy to any more information than anyone else, so I have no updates, just that engineers are aware.

Sense, Charge 5, Inspire 2; iOS and Android

I was so psyched to see an update for Fitbit on my phone today. I should know better by now, still no fix for Edit Exercise bug. 😥

EXACTLY :hundred_points:, I have given up.

It should be a simple tiny patch for a developer not months and many other
updates.

The actions( inactions ) are speaking louder than words we are getting.

I’ve got the same problem but with IOS 17.2.1 - how do I report this bug?

also it’s so annoying how they update the look but haven’t just kept this functionality- pointless updating it and makes me want to move away from Fitbit tbh

Best Answer

Someone asked about the best way to report this.

I have found, and many others might agree; The best way to report this is to go out at night and shout it to the moon. That’s as effective as any other method.
For Me…I’ve moved on. Life’s short. My Charge 5 occupies a drawer, slowly losing charge to 0%.
Good Luck

Just a reminder, if you revert to a pre-september version of the app, everything works fine.  I removed the option to auto update the app.

Best Answer

How do You do that?

Best Answer

I used to do the same thing and now can’t change the type of workout to horseback riding nor can I edit the timeframe of a work out after the app has stopped and restarted during a run or workout. The old app worked much better.

Best Answer

You will have to research it. Essentially you download the app from an archive of older versions and then enable permissions to install it.

Looks like nobody has wrote a review in PlayStore about the app missing functionality of editing exercise.

I've written a 1 star review mentioning this bug and the absolute incompetence (or disregard) of the developers to fix the issue.

@gobeagl it is annoying when they mark something as answered when all they have done is trotted out a platitude. Unfortunately only the original poster or a moderator has the ability to remove the answered tag. Sadly the person making the original post has long given up on the thread. The other favorite is locking the thread and telling people with the same question to open a new one. This stops consolidation of the questions in one place which would show to greater effect how many there are on the same subject.

I'm done with the whole mess. I've reverted to a wristwatch that is solar powered and still going strong after 15 years.

Hi, has this bug been fixed yet..? I checked the other day and it let me categorize it but I checked again today and I cant categorize an activity anymore, unless I start a new one. All it says is “Sport”. I’m on the fitbit app and am using a Charge 5.

Some seem to be editable in the app for me. I think it might be ones that aren't GPS tracked, but I am not sure.

Same problem for me on Pixel 6a. I've managed to update activities using the web version so far, but this is very annoying.

Slight update. It works with some exercises now. But it doesn't change the steps or any other data based on the exercise, just allows you to edit the exercise name. Also, it's still not possible to change exercise type if it's been logged with the GPS. This is really annoying as a horse rider, I'm not taking any steps but I'd still like to know how far of a distance I've ridden!

Hi, yes i can now change the name of exercise when it was auto recognize by the app, under "sport"

But not possible to change when you have launched an exercise yourself.
