On the new app, on Android on a pixel 7.
The Edit Exercise panel allows me to properly edit Date, Start time and Duration, but the keyboard is not showing up when I try to update the Activity.

The new app will not let me change the type of exercise that logged. It chose one that I was not doing, and I can’t change it. On the old app I could it worked very well. I’m surprised that you are not getting the same results as the rest of us. I am working on an iPhone 15 pro
Yes it’s bizarre that some on here say it’s working for them. I guess they are still using the old version, and not updating. Or they’re paid by Google or Fitbit?
I’m using latest version of app, Charge 4, and iPhone 13 mini. I was happy when I upgraded from Charge 3 after it ironically stopped holding charge, because surely problems I had with that device would be fixed? But no.
I think Fitbit app does the most updates of any other app and they can’t fix a lot of simple issues. I don’t think they ever fix bugs like they say. Seems from reading these forums, and my own experience, they just break stuff each time. On the box and in the specs on every website I checked when I got my Charge 4, it said I could see the sleep on the device itself. It even has a space. I’ve had it for two years now, and I could count on one hand the number of times it’s shown my sleep on my wrist. And people have been reporting this issue for at least five years. But nothing is ever done. No firmware updates since the old one I downloaded when I bought it. Maybe more of us need to contact support. I mean I do, but I am one person.
I am also experiencing this bug and have been for a while. I use the latest version of iOS and have the Fitbit app up to date as of today.
These are my options from clicking on the exercise from the today screen. I wanted to change the ‘walk’ to Kayak. Also, any edits I make to distance revert back to the auto calculated one if I try to change the distance.
Can't edit Fitbit exercises logged on Charge 6, with Nokia XR20 running Android 13 (latest updates and security updates), nor on my Lenovo Duet 5 Chromebook (with all latest updates) and latest Fitbit App on Australian Google Play store.
This is clearly not a new problem. Just a problem constantly ignored by Google.
You can modify the exercise and save it in all apps listed above, however all data will revert after a few seconds.
Same issue on iPhone 13 mini, running iOS 17.5.1, and latest version of FitBit. Very annoying!
Best AnswerHi, this doesn’t work. The exercise type is grey and you can’t edit. iPhone on current version of app. Help appreciated please.
Best AnswerUnfortunately no one at Google has ever responded with a fix or even an explanation. The only evidence of anyone there even reading anything is when they delete posts that happen to mention a competitor. I have given up.
Best AnswerI’ve just had my first post deleted for being “off topic” when I mentioned the fix to the issue is to buy a competitors product!
If it wasn’t so frustrating it would make you laugh at Fitbits contempt for its customers!
Well, I finally made the switch to another product. Such basic functionality in an exercise tracker being removed is too much.
I use a tracker to track and record exercise. Since I can no longer edit the type of exercise I actually did on Fitbit, I made the switch. When I mow the lawn and it records me as having been swimming and I can't change that, it just doesn't work for me. So much for those 10+ years with Fitbit. Adios.
Best AnswerI at least got an "outdoor workout" recognized as I was mowing the lawn earlier today. However, I now stumbled upon the same issue of being unable to change the exercise.
Reading through all of this topic, it feels like Meta, who months ago decided to not update their Android app to use Health Connect and now we are stuck with an advertised but non-functional "feature" that should sync fitness data to Health Connect. They just decided to do nothing about it and even redesigned their app since then (but no restore yet).
Seems like we all have to dump these companies and revert to manually logging and calculating our data since nobody cares even if we pay for the "comfort".
Looks like now am finally able to edit activities! Am on Pixel 8 Pro, Fitbit app version 4.22.3 and Pixel 2 Watch. Can't believe it too this long but hey, its working. Changed the exercise type a while ago and its still showing my changes. Hopentheu don't break it again. LOL.
