Can't enter calories for previous days

A recent change to the app's calorie tracking that came a little after the new dashboard has hidden all previous days that don't have foods tracked under them, so if you only recorded using Add Quick Calories all you see is the weekly average, and can't see or navigate to any previous days.

 

I'm British, and the barcode scanner has literally never recognised a single product I have ever bought, so I exclusively rely on the Add Quick Calories function. So now in the new app if I don't finish adding everything before midnight, which happens often, it's impossible to do that in the app. I need to use the web interface, which doesn't even have an Add Quick Calories function, so I need to enter some number of portions of the hacky "100 calorie food" item I created to substitute.

 

Please fix the ability to add quick calories to previous days which only had quick calories recorded for them; Fitbit's calorie tracking function has always been bad, at least for non-Americans, but this pushes it into unusable and I'm otherwise going to have to try to find something else to do it with and keep it separate to my activity and weight and sleep tracking.

To better assist you with this, can you please let me know which Android mobile device you're currently using to add calories? When was the first time you experienced this and how many times since then? In the meantime I receive your answers, please try the following:

 

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Uninstall the app from your mobile device.
  3. Make sure that the Android version is up to date.
  4. Reboot your mobile device.
  5. Reinstall the Fitbit app.
  6. Login using your credentials.
  7. Try again.

My device is a OnePlus 5T (model ONEPLUS A5010), running Android 9. I first observed this behaviour sometime about a week ago, I believe; it has been present every time I have opened the app's calorie tracking since, so over 20 times at least.

 

I've tried the debugging steps suggested (uninstalled the app and relogged in)) and confirmed that the behaviour remains the same. Thank you for looking into this.

Thank you for sharing such details with me, your effort and patience troubleshooting this situation are appreciated. Let me share with you that the OnePlus 5T model is not currently listed as a compatible device with our products and services, therefore, due to Fitbit app and Android updates we cannot ensure that all the features on your device or the Fitbit app will work as intended. Since some troubleshooting steps were already tried with no avail, can you please try with a compatible device instead? This way we will be able to check if the compatibility concern is causing such inconvenience.

Hi @jbeshir,  my get around for this is to have a named item every day. I just use a cup of coffee which at 2 calories is not going to have any significant influence on the total.

I know it's bs but until fitbit make their app fit for purpose instead of piling on further non functioning bells and whistles it'll have to do.
