Hi Fitbit Community,
Lately, I realized that I can't add my phone to the Fitbit app to count my steps. I was able to do it before (probably one month ago) but now I can't anymore. I wanted to do this for when my Charge 4 is charging and I have to do my hourly steps (instead of unplugging it every time).
Does anyone have a suggestion to fix this issue?
Thank you!
Félix

Hi, @FélixL, welcome. Noting your earlier posts I think you know devices are the Fitbit products that link to the app on your phone, you cant add your phone to the Fitbit app, only Fitbit products. You can install a Fitbit app in two phones/tablets but only one should be on at a time. I'm assuming you have a problem syncing but if I'm wrong, please post again. These articles may offer you a way forward How do Fitbit devices sync their data? and Why won't my Fitbit device sync? , I apologise if you have seen them before.
Cheers

Hi @Gr4ndp4,
Fortunately, I don't have any sync problem 😉
I was wondering this because I've already seen an icon to set up my phone (MobileTrack). It was probably a bug or something like that because I can't find it anymore.
I've found a screenshot on Google Images: here is what it looks like. (first screenshot)
As you can see, mine doesn't offer this possibility.
Thanks for your help 😉

Try a search of these forums @FélixL there have been several work arounds mentioned.
One is to log out/in on the Fitbit app.

Hi @Rich_Laue,
When you mean "log out/in on the Fitbit app", do you mean to uninstall and reinstall the app or something else?
And which forums are you writing about?
Thanks 🙂

@FélixL I looked at your other posts on this site. I found one where you say you use a Samsung phone. According to this Help article, you can't use MobileTrack in addition to a Fitbit device on an Android phone. I wonder if this is why you don't see MobileTrack as a choice. O know it was a while ago, but did you have your Charge 4 on your account when you saw MobileTrack as a Choice?
I need add a disclaimer. I am an iPhone user. You can use MobileTrack and a Fitbit on an iPhone. I am forwarding a Help article, not giving advice from experience. I am just tossing out an idea.
My workaround to charging is to charge my Fitbit while I take a shower and get dressed. It gives my skin a break (a Fitbit recommendation) and I clean the sweaty grime off the sensors before putting it back on. The step count loss is pretty minimal.

@LZeeW I think you go the point. I had some trouble syncing my Charge 4 to my phone. During this period of time, I had the opportunity to do it. I haven't tried back since this event.
This is likely the main cause why I can't set it up 🙂

I was referring to the Fitbit app that this thread is about. Tap in the top left, scroll up, tap log out.
