Cannot Add Friends (Videos Inside)

Hey there!

Just got my Fitbit Charge 2 for Christmas, and I'm doing my best to dive in head-first to the existing Fitbit communities in my various friend circles.  Unfortunately, however, I cannot add any more friends.

I started adding friends on Sunday.  I was able to request a sizeable amount of friends (I have no idea which ones still actively use their Fitbits) before it stopped working.  I figured that I had perhaps been rate-limited for the hour or the day, but now that it is Wednesday, the problems still persist and I cannot request any more friends.

This is what happens when I try to add friends on Android.

This is what happens when I try to add friends on the web.

Thoughts:

  1. I have not hit any friend limit, as I only have about 9 friends.
  2. Latest version of Android (7.1.1) and latest version of Fitbit for Android (2.39).
  3. Pretty sure that this isn't an Android or Web problem, but a problem with the system and my account overall.  Not sure where this post should be made.  Regardless, both interfaces should absolutely be returning human-readable feedback to me, instead of behaving like this (silently failing).
  4. I may be at a "friend request limit" (an extremely silly concept, since there is no way for me to tell which of my friends are still active on Fitbit and the inactive ones will never accept my requests) on my account, but if that were the case, as people accept my friend requests, I should be able to send new requests out.

I have searched these forums for similar issues, but there doesn't seem to be any post that categorically describes a cross-platform issue as I am describing it here.  Felt like this was important to document, because I'm 100% sure that I'm not the only person who is experiencing this issue.

Any help would be appreciated!
