Cannot add friends

"Error: Failed to send Friend Request"

Hi, I am unable to send friend requests via username due to Error 404. (This form won't allow me to add a screenshot)

Others are also unable to add me as a friend, saying that they can't find me with my user ID.  Since we're sharing usernames on a public forum, we do not want to share emails, only User IDs.

I have the Android app, latest version available 3.72 (37268001). EDIT: I pushed an update, I am now running version 3.73 (37381041). Still no resolution to this issue.

Steps I have taken are:

-logged out of Fitbit app

-cleared cache

-restarted phone

-logged back in

I have also checked my Privacy settings, but I have found nothing that seems like it would block adding friends.

Is there anything else that I can try? I've looked at other posts here, and I have not found a solution.

Thanks for the explanation. What is the user ID that you share? I would try to add people from this direct link to your account: https://www.fitbit.com/user/2C73GF. This is your public Fitbit link. It shows an overview of your account and it lets others add you as a friend. I understand you not wanting to share personal details, good call. Try sending your friends the link above instead. I am sure they will be able to add you as a friend from there.
