I have tried to enter my height as 5" 10.5" but the app switches it back to 5' 10". Is there no way to enter half inches? If not, should I keep it 5' 10" or go up to 5'11"? I feel like there should be a way & I'm just not figuring it out lol because it should be accurate, right? I'm pretty new to Fitbit. Thanks for any help!

Using Fitbit Sense and Fitbit app on Android phone.

@EGrimes88   To the best of my knowledge, Fitbit uses your height in two places.

  • If you track your weight, Fitbit uses your height to calculate your BMI.
  • Fitbit uses your height to estimate your stride length.  There are equations for stride length.

@Guy_'s suggestion is problematic. If you change your distance to metric, it will carry over to every distance data point.  The metric height only allows one number after the decimal point.  If you enter a metric height, any metric height, it reverts to whole numbers when you change your preferred distance to feet and inches.

 

How tall do you feel?  A half an inch has very little effect on your Fitbit data.

Hi @EGrimes88 - the profile doesn't accept decimals for inches.

 

However as 1" is 2.54 cms if you use metric units you can get better precision.

Thank you very much as the what I was worried about, was how much, if any, it would effect my Fitbit data! I thought I read somewhere that it would and I thought I saw someone else say that they could enter decimals but if it makes no big difference I'm good with that. Thanks again to all replies!
