I could usually from the home screen pull the drop down and see the Fitbit menu, and them sync the watch to the phone. I no longer see that and it believe it started happening when I updated to the latest version of the fitbit app on my phone.
I use an android phone with Android 10. gain from my home screen on the phone I could pull down a fitbit menu and now I can no longer do that.

Problem fixed by uninstalling then reinstalling. It is it called Fitbit now.
