Cannot pair Fitbit Charge 3 - Xiaomi 10T Lite

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I can't pair with my Fitbit 3 charge and my mobile phone (Huawei mate 20 lite), previously it worked on the same phone. There have been problems with the sync anyway, the sync has required me to do it myself, it hasn't happened automatically.

Blootooth finds Fitbit but can't pair.
I have restarted Fitbit and the phone, I have closed and opened Bluetooth, I have reloaded the Fitbit app and checked that the version of my phone is compatible (android 10.0). What can I do?

Hi @Marjut  your phone seems to be incompatible - click to read more.

I also found my phone from the list and followed the instructions, but it still doesn't work. However, syncing and pairing has worked reasonably well in the past, how is it possible that the Fitbit I bought in the summer now won't work when it used to work before? Does this come under warranty when I make my Fitbit incompatible during use? I will not by Apple because of this problem.

@Marjut  the warranty would be if something was wrong with the actual device, but in your case, it seems that the phone is the problem, not the Fitbit. While it's not compatible, many phones or tablets will work, but often with a much limited use of the app. Could be that's your issue.

Well hey again! I then bought a new phone and was happy for a few hours when I got Fitbit doing business with the new phone (Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite). When in the morning I tried to sync Fitbit again reported an error and prompted to fix it. So again, there was a problem that I couldn’t pair with the phone. The message: "The device could not be connected to charge 3 due to an incorrect PIN code or access key." What miracle is wrong now? And if my writing is somehow stiff or weird it’s because of the Google translator I have to use here.

@Marjut  what is your native language? Might be easier if we had a forum area that is in that language for you.

I´m sorry, my native language is finnish, so i don´t think there is that language area for me.

@Marjut  I've asked a Moderator to stop by to help you. It would be hard using the translator to explain a problem

It`s easier to translate english in to finnish, so thank you very much for your help!

Ok, let´s try again. I hope here is someone who could help me.

I even bought a new phone when Odyssey13 kindly pointed out my previous phone is on the incompatible list.
Well now I managed to get a phone (Xiaomi 10T Lite) which is probably on the same list too unless someone figures out how to get rid of the problem under the title.
Bluetooth cannot pair with Fitbit charge 3.
Is it the case that Fitbit only works with a mid-priced android phone with good luck? (to my luck, two different Fitbit 3 devices worked on my previous phone for over 2 years and then ran out)
Do I throw a water bird with Fitbit (as we in Finland say about a device that only works with luck) or what can i do?

Hi @Marjut  bluetooth with a Fitbit works a bit differently and you don't pair it directly using a pin. See if these directions help you - click to read

Thank`s again.

Ok, I managed to create a pair of devices now for playback and this time it was also saved on my phone and is shown in gray with the text Pair of Charge 3 saved. As soon as I pressed Sync now it started running and after a while it again reported an error and asked to fix it now.
I had already made all the million previous repairs and even now I have shut down and restarted Bluetooth, fitbit and phone, jokes and resources are running out.

Hello especially the Moderators!

I've now read through your (several moderators at Fitbit community) instructions regarding my current new phone (and apparently very many other phones), why my fitbit doesn't sync and the tracker drops off repeatedly when I try to sync now.
Your only answer seems to be, "Your phone is not on the list of supported devices."

And now i really want to ask where the h..l is that list?

This is really poor customer service, when you get Fitbit you have to buy a pig in a bag when the compatibility information is not correct or at least you can´t see it anywhere.
It`s not under the link you put in your answer.

Yes,

"you must install the Fitbit app on a compatible device running one of the following operating systems:

  • Apple iOS 13 or higher
  • Android OS 8.0 or higher

And mys new phone Xiaomi mi 10T Lite

has

OS Android 10

Is there something else i could not read or understand? (Both are possible)

Good evening!

Now after two weeks i have no more problems with Fitbit Charge 3; i stopped using it. No more reboots, no restarts, no more new set ups.

My android 10 did not work with Fitbit!

@Odyssey13 Thanks for your help! However, the first smartphone Huawei Mate 20 Lite is not on the "incompatible" list. The list reduces to:

  • Huawei P8 Lite
  • Huawei P9 Lite
  • Xiaomi Mi 6
  • Huawei P20 Lite
  • See these additional instructions for help resolving any issues using the Fitbit app on this device.

This list is in the aforementioned link regarding compatibility and requirements. Her smartphone is not listed there.

@Marjut Welcome to the forums. Please apologize the delayed response. I will gladly help you pair your Charge 3. I am sorry to read you have stopped using it. Please note that your smartphones are not incompatible. However, there might be some settings you can adjust, so that the Fitbit app runs as expected. I just have a question. When exactly do you receive this error message? "The device could not be connected to charge 3 due to an incorrect PIN code or access key.". Was this the error message you received after you pressed sync now?

I would remove the Charge 3 from my account and set it up again. That way all connections are restored. Please note, that one should not pair the Charge 3 over the smartphone's Bluetooth settings. Connections will be automatically created by the Fitbit App. So that your Charge 3 appears as "paired" you need to set up notifications. ()

Have a nice day. Regards!

Hello nightrider!

I did this many times (at some point I also tried the wrong way  to do it)"I would remove the Charge 3 from my account and set it up again. That way all connections are restored. Please note, that one should not pair the Charge 3 over the smartphone's Bluetooth settings. Connections will be automatically created by the Fitbit App. So that your Charge 3 appears as "paired" you need to set up notifications."

...and at last my new phone and Fitbit made a pair. Here my former text "I managed to create a pair of devices now for playback and this time it was also saved on my phone and is shown in gray with the text Pair of Charge 3 saved. As soon as I pressed Sync now it started running and after a while it again reported an error and asked to fix it now. So, the tracker drops off repeatedly when I try to sync now! I tried that many times.

And i noticed i`m not the only one who has problems with android phones.

But now is the midnight in Finland and i`m going to sleep.
