Change the way how food is logged

When I click the plus sign to add food, I get a food search screen. When I am done locating the food, I click "Log This".  At this point, the app takes me back out where I have to click the plus sign again. Please take me back to the food search screen instead. Taking me two screens back and making me click the plus sign again is just frustrating.
