Charge 2 display not working

Fit bit itself seems to be tracking steps sleep etc and syncing to phone app fine but the watch display has turned horizonal and only has a wierd scrambled strip like a bar code at top with battery indicator in the middle. What is this?

@Rarogirl - Please open the Fitbit app on your phone and change the clock face from there ... from the current one, then back again, if necessary. Then resync your Charge 2. That should fix it. Please let us know if it doesn’t.

Hmmmm ... your screen seems to think the battery needs charging. Does it? 

 

Please plug your Charge 2 in. Give it an hour, then restart it. Instructions are here. Do the restart three times in quick succession. If this does not bring your screen back, it may be best to contact Support directly. Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks I'll try it! appreciate the advice.

The battery is half full according to the app dashboard, and the same display shows even when fully charged according to the app.
