Charge 2 quits syncing on Samsung 8+

My Charge 2 quits syncing with my phone.  To reconnect, I either must restart my phone, or restart the Charge 2.  After a random amount of time, the device will quit syncing again.

 

My phone specs are as follows:

Samsung S8+ / Model SMG955U

Android version: 8.0.0

Samsung Experience version: 9.0

Last Android security patch level was installed August 1, 2018

Software updated to G955USQS5CRH1 on Sept. 5, 2018

 

My phone's apps are all up to date.

 

I have tried repairing the device and I've uninstalled the Fitbit app, as well as cleared cache, etc.

 

This has become quit an annoyance.  Any suggestions / recommendations would be appreciative.

Hi @SunsetRunner, welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well, I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 2 doesn't sync all the time with your Samsung phone and thank you for troubleshooting this issue and for all the details you provided.

 

Try removing the tracker from your phone's Bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there too. Restart your phone again. Now add the tracker to the Bluetooth list and reopen the app to start a sync.

mine has stopped syncing all afternoon

 

wonder if it is just the Charge 2  model?

 

stopped supporting them maybe? to make us buy the Charge 3?

Hi @chrisl1628, it's nice to see you here! Sorry to know you're having syncing issues. 

 

Please rest assured that we keep supporting Charge 2 devices. I would like to know if you had try the steps recommended in my first post? Do you have a Samsung 8+ too?
