Charge 2 won't connect to my Pixel 3 XL

Hi,

I've been having this issue since I got my new phone. My charge 2 does not connect to my phone properly.

It is difficult to get it to connect to sync in the mornings, it takes quite a few goes. It will not connect at all to track exercise, and only half the data comes back, today steps and calorie counting has not been picked up. I just cycled 10 miles and it reckons I've burned 53 calories. It's also showing 12 active minutes on the homepage but 50 minutes when I tap into the activity. There is absolutely no GPS even when the app is open and I have bluetooth/internet on.

I have already taken the following steps:

- Reinstalling the app

- Forgetting the device and reconnecting it

- Trying to reconnect the device once I start to track activity

I've seen that some people say my device isn't supported (but Fitbit say it is). I've no idea why it won't connect properly to my phone.

Any ideas?

Cheers!

Hi @LaurenLondon. I'm glad to see you here in the Forums.

Thanks for sharing detailed information about your Charge 2 and the Fitbit app. You've done a good job with the troubleshooting steps! I've confirmed that your Pixel 3 XL appears in our compatible devices list, so let's work together on the syncing and GPS issues. First of all, please make sure of the following:

  • The Fitbit app is allowed to run on the background.
  • GPS can continue tracking while your phone is locked.
  • The location services are enabled within your privacy settings.
  • You have a strong Internet signal (Mobile Data) during your exercise.

If those conditions are met, please give a try to the following:

  1. On your phone's settings tap on Apps > Fitbit > Storage > Clear Cache.
  2. Go back one screen and tap on force stop.
  3. Turn off the Bluetooth settings.
  4. Reboot your phone and restart your Charge 2.
  5. Turn back on the Bluetooth settings, open the Fitbit app and wait until it syncs.
  6. Then start a GPS exercise on your Charge 2. Make sure the Connected GPS is turned on.

Keep me posted!
