Charge 5 won't work on specific brand elipitical

I have a Charge 5 and every time I use a Precor brand elipitical, the HR goes blank (two dashes). I called Fitbit and told them about this several times and they said the Charge 5 must be faulty and sent me a replacement. I tried the replacement on the Precor and got the same results. I can use a different brand of elipitical and it works fine. Is anyone else having this trouble? Does it just work better with some brands than others? The Charge 5 is not moving on my arm during the workouts.
