Charge won't sync

My charge stops syncing from time to time.have emptied cache and in past has worked after turning bliuetooth on and off. Not this time though. This thing worked seamlessly for several years since I bought it but over the last three to four weeks has been a problem.  Is this to do with my phone and device or is it the app? Am probably due to an upgrade. This is undermining my brand allegiance.

Please try the troubleshooting steps that are listed in this help article. After this, monitor your Charge for the next 24 hours and see if the issue gets fixed.

This link doesn't seem to go any where. By fiddling with the. Settings I am
working again but my question remains - what has changed? This was fine for
years and in the last few weeks has been erratic. I never had to turn off
WiFi and Bluetooth or the features in the watch settings before?
