This really sucks that you have to buy a phone with a newer OS in order to use the features of the Fitbit/APP. I wish Fitbit would make this clear to customers before they make purchases. I don't understand why Fitbit can't make the app compatable with the once supported operating system instead of the operating system compatable with the app. Not everybody can go buy new phones to use the app. I can't even simply sync my new Fitbit Charge 2 with my Galalxy S3, I was able to with the Charge HR. Very disapointed customer, as I have used this fitbit to lose 135lbs, and now can't even synce/bluetooth to keep me informed or use features of the new Fitbit Charge 2 HR. Really!!! I have to buy a new phone to take advantage of the Charge 2 HR features or even sync my Fitbit to the app? Why even have a download available for the Charge 2 (Version 2.15.1) to use on the Galaxy S3 if the two aren't compatable?

Hi there @AK47Custom, good to see you around and thank you for your comments. I understand your disappointment and your standpoint about the compatibility of the Fitbit app.
Note that with old models of mobile devices is not that the app is not supported, but in order to make sure all the features and options of the app work properly is require to update the app to support newest OS versions of the mobile devices that are constantly changing along with the specifications are built.
In some occasions is allow to install a lower version of the app if the OS does not support the new version, but this may caused issues at the moment to sync or support the new features of the Charge 2
With the latest generation of trackers, is require to have a more robust Fitbit app that supports the new features that the Charge HR may not require back then, but this is not a decision from Fitbit ends, since depends much of the OS installed on the mobile device and how much support the mobile device received from the brand itself.
Thank you for your feedback and let me know if you have more questions.

Yes, a Galaxy S3 with a newer Os will allow you to use trhe 2.39 version APP, but I am Running 2.16.840 and I can't update to 2.39 because the OS on my S3 is the older OS, older than the OS they run on newer S3's.. So yes the S3 is Compatable but not all S3's. 😞
