Before I buy I would like to know: Any experiences about Fitbit watches working on older Android phones? My phone is a Galaxy S7 running Android 8.0.

The Fitbit app downloads fine. The playstore states that minimum requirement is Android 8. But will indeed all the features work?

Currently eying Versa 2.

The short answer is Yes. The longer answer is; Oreo is 5 years old, my guess is support for Oreo will be discontinued next year. With that said, your Fitbit will still work, but if you for some reason needs to reinstall the app you will not be able to download the app after Oreo is discontinued.

Thanks, so is it either yes it works or no it dont work at all? Or is it possible that it works but not all features? That gradually more features are dropped? Maybe a noob question sorry, I am new to smartwatchworld.

As long as I guard the original app I can reinstall old, working version. So that should pose no problem.

It will work with todays installed features as long as you are able to install the app, but new features meant for a higher Android version when Oreo is discontnued will not.
