- OS- Lollipop 5.0.2

- Bluetooth -  V4.0, A2DP, EDR, LE

Hi, are there any updates in regards to this phone? I have just got the a5 2017 to discover it's not compatible. Checked with Vodafone prior to purchase and bought as they said it was. Hard lesson learned, check yourself next time.

I have a Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 model and was having alot of trouble syncing. I reset the phone and it seemed to work better (so far).

  1. Plug your charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Insert the other end into the port on the back of your Fitbit Charge or Fitbit Charge HR. Your tracker will begin charging.
  3. Press and hold the button for 10 to 12 seconds until you see the Fitbit icon and a version number (e.g. "V30").
  4. Let go of the button.
  5. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

I just bought an A5 and have an Alta that won't sync either.  I see this thread started in 2016.  Still nothing resolved as yet?  Funny thing is that I got the Fitbit app from the Google Play store.

Morning

Please could you give a rough timeline for adding the Galaxy A5 to the list of compatible devices? My Fitbit Alta will not sync properly with my phone, although pairing was fine and some of the functions are supported. The sleep function also does not work. There have been many requests to add the A5 but no indication of any timelines. Thanks!

Hi

My fitbit Alta is just 1 year old. It has been working on my Samsung Galaxy A5 absolutely perfectly including syncing until 2 weeks ago. Everything is up to date, I've uninstalled etc. What is going on please?

Mine has never worked!  Very frustrating, as I bought the fitbit to be able to access my texts and phone calls while working, without having to reply until my convenience.

Has this ever been resolved. I recently got a fitbit without realising compatability issues. it connected okay and syncs okay but when im cycling it is not logging correct distances etc and struggles to connect sometimes. i do it manually as the fitbit itself never seems to figure out that i'm cycling.  I assume this is down to this issue. Surely after more than 2 years the A5 would have been added to the list of compatible devices!

I am not sure what the status of this is now. I never received an answer from Fitbit so I gave up and went with another product to track my fitness. I still wear the watch but haven't even sync'd it for months now as I carry my Samsung phone with me when walking and cycling and use a program that is gps enabled and provides tracking for just about every activity under the sun. App is called "Walkmeter".

My Samsing Galaxy A5 is working great with my Fitbit Alta. I've only had it one day but all the syncing and notifications seem to be working just fine.
One tip - of notifications aren't working at first, re-start your phone.

It is ridiculous, that 3 years after this issue was first flagged, people are still experiencing this difficulty. Having had patience for over a year, I contacted Customer Support yesterday. As always, the Fitbit agent was extremely helpful and courteous, but unfortunately, she is not in a position to add the Sansung A5 to the compatibility list. It is not as if Samsung are an obscure brand and you only have to scroll through the MULTITUDE of messages on here to see the number of Fitbit / Samsung A5 users affected. It simply isn't good enough. I was very kindly offered a 25% discount code yesterday, but it was only after I finished chatting to the agent that I realised that the code is of no benefit to me, because my Samsung A5 isn't compatible with ANY Fitbit device and I am not eligible for a phone upgrade for a further 12 months. I am a longtime Fitbit fan and user but I am so frustrated. I fear I may have no choice but to invest in a different brand

So frustrating! I've been using my Fitbit Alta HR successfully with my Samsung A5 2017 for almost 2 yrs. Now over the last week or so it is having problems syncing data, or data is incomplete?? Thought it was resolved after resetting Fitbit and reinstalling app, but keep having problems.  How can they become suddenly incompatible???!!!
