Connectivity issue known problem or phone specific?

hey dear community

I got a Fitbit Versa 3 for christmas and i installed it, paired it and gave permissions on my Xiaomi Note 8 Pro. It works fine and I am happy with it, except for one issue, which is not a minor one.

When I start my phone and the Fitbit app, everything works well and the phone synchronizes the watch, but after some time (~ some hours) of not using the app and starting it afterwards it is not able to synchronize anymore. Same happens when I close the app by pressing BACK or closing it via the taskmanager, which happens quite often. The app is not able to find the watch, or to sync it.

After restarting the phone everything works fine again.

Is this a common known issue with the fitbit app? Or is it my phone?

thanks in advance for your answers 🙂

its probably a run in background and.ir battery optimization issue.

Check this case it may help but I guess you need to do the battery optimization too.

Something like, [the 3 dots are vertical]

On the phone check battery optimizations [the options may be different in your version]

  • First go to Settings > Apps & Notification > Special app access
  • Click on Battery optimization
  • Now press the drop down menu [...] and select “All Apps
  • Click on Bluetooth and then select “Don’t optimize
  • Same with Fitbit

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your answer 🙂

I already did that, the app is installed correctly, I checked all the permissions and the battery saving of the app.

But can I assume, that this does not happen to everyone on android? Because I'm thinking about buying a pixel 5, if the error comes from my xiaomi note 8 pro

I'm having the exact same issue with my Samsung galaxy note20 ultra and my charge 2.

If you close the app with the task manager, you only closed half of the app. You will need to do a phone restart, or through the phone settings stop the app.

Your app needs to be running for a sync to occur.

You want the Fitbit app running in the background when the phones screen shuts off.
