Fitbit Ionic/Samsung S8+... phone had an update and every since there is a notification on my Fitbit app.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Fitbit app; but it did not clear the notification.  I cannot find any NEW notifications either.  Help?

I just saw this on another post about the same problem.  It worked for me.  I have an S7 Edge and Charge 2 Fitbit.  If that matters.

Log out from your Fitbit app and go to your phone settings. Access to the App manager option and look for the Fitbit app in your downloaded apps list. Once you are there, clear the app cache and data and proceed to "Force Stop" the app. Finish the workaround by restarting your phone. When your phone has initialized, log back in to your app and try again.

Hello and welcome to the forums @jbekkaz

I have a Samsung 8 and it updated this morning. There is no notification on my Fitbit App other than a message from a friend. Could that be your case?

Have you tried logging out of the app?

I received a friend notification but since it was already read that notification should be gone.

@jbekkazI've had that happen before, but after I sync it removes the notification. Wait and see if it's still there tomorrow.

Mine is always syncing... so it should be gone.  I'll see what tomorrow brings....

I have an S7 Edge and a Charge 2 and the notification icon in the app in the bottom right hand corner is ALWAYS there.  Even after reading the message, it does not go away.  Most annoying.

Still there today.  Wasn't doing it until the update on the S8+ I did yesterday....  something has got to be done.  Beyond annoying.

I had this same issue and followed the accepted solution.

When I logged back in, it then showed a badge with 98 notifications! I went there and all the ones from before are there (7). I hope the issue is solved but the fact that it showed another number is not reassuring.

Yeah.... I've hid my icon on my phone because there is a constant "1" notification... drives me insane. I've updated and done everything listed to no avail.  Sad they cannot figure this out...

This is on the app itself though, bottom right corner. Can't hide that. Perhaps it's a different issue from what's being discussed here?

No; it is not on the app itself.  It is a an orange circle with a 1 in the center located on the upper right of my Fitbit icon on the phone.  (fyi; I started this forum message regarding the notification on my icon...) .  There are no notifications within the app itself: nothing new on Dashboard, Challenges, Guidance, Community, OR Notification INSIDE the app.

Thanks. I'll start a new thread as clearly this is for a different issue, which I don't have.

Thanks that worked for me.

Well it's back.... I've went in and turned OFF the App Icon Badges and it's disappeared.  I don't need it on as I check my Fitbit info a few times a day.   It might be the ticket until FitBit figures out what the problem is.   Here's what I have done:  Settings, Apps, FitBit, Notifications, turned OFF App Icon badges.

Had same problem with my Ionic. Tried this suggestion but problem persisted. What finally worked for me was turning off the 'Keep-Alive Widget' option within Ionic's general settings.

I don't see a "Keep Widget Alive" option...

If you have an Ionic: on dashboard tab there are 3 icons top right hand corner: the watch, battery and b'tooth signal and the account icon. Click on the watch icon. Scroll down to 'General' underneath Sync section. Scroll down to the bottom and Keep-Alive Widget is the last option listed. I then logged out, back in, and it was fixed.

The badge icon thing had been driving me crazy for some time so, in my case, I was thrilled that this has definitely eliminated the issue. Good luck!

I have an iPhone 8 and Alta HR, in the app there’s a red dot on the notifications tab that won’t go away.

I’ve tried logging out, turning the phone off and back on, and logging back in. And I’ve tried changing the settings within the app, and deleting the app and adding it back. And the dot is still there.

😞
