Hi. I have the latest fitbit release 3.14 using a Samsung S10 and have been receiving the following error code when I try to update my notifications and messages - 'could not load notifications'
this appears to have been an issue in 2018 and 2019 on various phones - apparently an app bug not a phone syncing issue. I have tried to trouble shoot this issue by uninstalling/reinstalling the app, clearing the cache and data then force stopping the app and turning my phone off/then back on again. I have deleted and re-added my ionic to the fitbit.
i'm also having issues with receiving my texts on my watch - it shows as 'new message' but doesnt show my the name of my contact or who's calling. I have ensured my app settings for each app/messaging app/calling app is set to show on my lock screen but this does not show on my fitbit. I have gone through fitbit and my apps to ensure they are all set to show maximum information, to no avail.
what is going on with the newest releases of this app? please help

Where are you seeing this message of Could not load notifications. Is it on the tracker or web? Could it be when trying to access the community the web?
As for only seeing a message count, check your settings.

It's in the fitbit tracker app that's the issue
As for the texts, I'm having the same issues as everyone else. My calendar, alarms, emails etc come through but texts, calls, whatsapp etc only show as 'message'
I've done all of the troubleshooting, factory reset, checked phone setting and fitbit settings and nothing makes the messaging notifications work correctly.

I'm not following you,
You say your calender email and phone come through. I assume to your wrist. But text messages do not. This is an issue that is affecting some android version 10 users.
However you say your error message shows up in the app, your provided screen shot did not show the error but it looks like it may be of the Community section. The two should not be related.
If your phone is on Android 10, I suggest subscribing to the pinned post above.

I'm seeing the same message too every time I open up the messages/notifications screen on my Android app. I see old messages and notifications but it does not show me any new notifications.
I got alerts on my phone and my ionic but when I go to see the notification, the error comes up.
This was working fine most of the day yesterday and started last night. I did not upgrade the app or my phone last night.

I'm having the same issues too! I have not been receiving text and emails on my charge 3 for several weeks now. The newest and greatest bug is the Fitbit app error "unable to load notifications ". Im Unable to read friend requests and responses to my community posts. I have a note 10. I have already done all of the trouble shooting. Please push out a fix already to these issues many, many of your customers are having.

Was there ever a solution found for this? I'm having the same issue. I get notifications on my fitbit how I'm supposed to but when I go to the app it says could not load notifications. I unpaired the device/ restarted my phone, etc, etc.

@greyscale , my problems seemed to resolve itself on its own after a few days.
