Dark Mode for the App

The white background in the current app design can be problematic when I'm out exercising at night.  Please consider adding an option for the app to have a "Dark Mode" with lighter text on a dark background.

Hello @AlbatrossY, Awesome to see you have joined to the Fitbit Community! Indeed, I agree with your suggestion when it comes about bright color schemes during the night. At the moment there is no option to do this, but I have seen other users how have suggested something similar.

If this is something in which you're interested, I would like to share with you the following feature suggestion, feel free to contribute with your vote and comments, it would be nice to have your support for this ideas.

I know this is not an immediate solution, but stay tuned for more future updates. Rest assure we are working to improve the Fitbit experience.

I agree!  Please support dark mode in Android Q and iOS 13 - which both have system-wide dark mode, this sets all current apps to dark mode. Fitbit is not working with this and is VERY BRIGHT at night when setting alarms at bedtime. All the apps I use like (e.g. Youtube, Twitter, etc) work fine in the dark, except Fitbit. 😕

I couldn’t agree more! This seems like a no brained for Fitbit. Seems strange they haven’t implemented this feature yet. Especially for all of us using OLED/AMOLED screens. Come on Fitbit step your game up... please 😬

Only problem with this is that on the apps that yet to be optimised for dark mode (Facebook, Fitbit etc.) the colour can go all wrong and some comments are really difficult to read.  I tried it and it only lasted about 10 minutes as it made some of my other apps impossible to use.

In Andriod 10 you can get dark mode by enabling developer options and forcing dark mode on unsupported apps.Dark ModeDark Mode

I tried this, then realized I only have Android 9 and that option does
not appear in the developer options.  I think Fitbit should just support
it natively already! Their own devices (Charge series etc) are all
running dark mode (white text on black background) so why not allow this
in the Fitbit App!!! PLEASE

If you're using the android app, you can enable developer options by going to system and clicking build number 7 times quickly. In developer options go to the force dark mode option and it should work

Hello all, I have a charge 3 and Huawei mate pro 20. I have tried all other suggestions by people but can't find a force dark mode option in developer option's and force stop does not work either despite system wide dark mode on. The widget has gone dark, why not the app itself? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

It's been 2+ years and Fitbit have been giving the same bog standard reply about having a dark mode option. SMH.

If you're not going to have a dark mode, just tell us. Send an email, or message on the app or a pinned post on the community board... what's the point of stringing people along?
