Dark Mode for the App

The white background in the current app design can be problematic when I'm out exercising at night.  Please consider adding an option for the app to have a "Dark Mode" with lighter text on a dark background.

I have to jump in and give this thread a bump. Its now been over a year since Fitbit was officially acquired by Google. To think there is still no proper dark mode is ridiculous. The developer mode is not only not an elegant solution, it actually breaks other apps and makes certain fonts unreadable in others.

As stated in the previous post, having to enable developer mode to force a dark mode in the Fitbit app is utterly ridiculous. Not providing a dark mode for the app demonstrates clearly a certain negligence and disregard for the product and it's users. Google just doesn't care. Apparently, the people who are involved with making the Fitbit product are not product users themselves or they would have had a dark mode years ago. This will be my last Fitbit product.

Edit: If there is a valid reason for not providing a dark mode, someone from Fitbit should tell users what that reason is. Google spent a $1B on buying Fitbit. They could spend a few thousand on providing a dark mode for the app. Geezuss.

Much like they never fix bugs, they'll never fix this. And I do consider the lack of a dark mode a bug in any app. White themes are objectively bad and I curse apple for popularizing them.

What's infuriating is that it works perfectly with the dev option to force dark mode, so clearly it's not that they can't enable it. That option applies to every app on the phone, though, and I use others where it renders them basically unusable, so it's not really an option.
