Hi,
I've been trying to delete exercises using the android app (auto-detected, manually tracked) and everytime the entry disappears for only a second before reappearing.
This bug seems to have started with the latest update. Are there any fixes/work arounds?
Thanks,
Dan

Same issue. Best answer solution doesn't work. I've spent more than 30 minutes trying to delete a workout from this morning because I forgot to hit finish and it is showing a 3+ hour weight workout. I'm not doing anything wrong. It's not that complicated. Select the item, hit the trash can and say yes I really want to delete this. I've done that about five times. Every time I resync it reappears. I cleared my cache. Restarted the app. It's still there .This is just another in the long list of problems/frustrations I've had since the last update. I had a charge 3 for years that worked great. The charge 5 along with recent design changes in the App have been nothing but disappointing. I'm super frustrated.

Hello,
For me these methods did not help, and the activity reappears after each synchronisation even days later.
What shall I do?

I tried all of these steps and none of them worked. No matter what I did, as soon as the app synced with my watch the (incorrectly auto-detected) exercise would reappear, whether I manually synced or waited for it to automatically sync. The same exercise would keep popping up. I tried force stop, clearing the cache, and logging out/back in. I am on the latest version of the app. Nothing worked. I had to go to the online dashboard at fitbit.com and delete it from there to finally prevent it from reappearing. Seems like a pretty common issue this month, please fix!!

Also experiencing the same on my Pixel 8. Please fix! Very annoying when activities are auto detected and then cannot be deleted.

Also replying here because this also has been happening to me.
To add to the frustration the exercises say zero minutes, and I can’t manually add a new exercise.

This issue is still present. I try to delete false activity that tracks while I drive. Usually labeled as mountain biking. And it won't delete. Also when I try to delete it. The confirmation message that appears to make sure you want to, won't disappear after clicking yes. I can sit there and hit yes 100 times and it won't go away until I click off screen or cancel.

as someone who is returning to Fitbit after using it many years ago, I also had old data to erase and was having this exact problem.
what worked for me was after going to the delete "all time" logs for that section (mine was exercise, weight, and calories) I deleted the app from my phone (android), waited a few hours and then downloaded it again. the data was finally gone. I also read somewhere that it might take up to 24 hours for large logs to disappear.
hope that helps.

Same issue here... I no longer use my Fitbit to track my walks

Same issue. I have tried multiple times and order of steps to quit app, clear cache, etc. For me, it auto detected mountain biking. I have not even been on a road bike in 3 years! I turned off auto detection for biking but I ended up sending my logs back in time by editing them with the year 1900. At least they are out of my list view.
On a side note, I tried accessing my dashboard online, but it tells me to go to the app. Will keep pursuing though.

Hey Angus, let's not be weirdly rude to people reporting a legitimate product issue. What you posted is a workaround, not a fix. The moderator that posted on this thread said they would see if anyone else is having the same issue, and clearly people are because they are continuing to post about this issue. Nothing wrong with that. I personally did use the dashboard to fix my data (thank you for posting that workaround btw) but that doesn't change the fact that the "delete" option in the app is still not working properly for people, and they are right to point it out.
